    摘要: A motor cooling structure for cooling a motor, which includes a shaft transmitting power and a rotor core attached to an outside of the shaft, by a cooling medium, includes: a cooling medium supply passage that extends to an inside of the shaft in an axial direction of the shaft and passes the cooling medium through the cooling medium supply passage; and a plurality of cooling medium passages that are branched from the cooling medium supply passage to cool the rotor core while flowing the cooling medium without branching the cooling medium in the axial direction and then eject the cooling medium from a plurality of ejection holes opened to a surface of the rotor core, wherein distances from a cooling medium inlet, through which the cooling medium flows into the cooling medium supply passage, to the respective ejection holes are equal between the plurality of cooling medium passages.

    摘要: An object of this invention to transfer the light emitted from the light source and exit the light with a uniform distribution of light quantity, without incurring transfer loss and an increase of costs.In this invention, an optical fiber 11 for irradiation-light transfer of a single major optical fiber element composed of a core 12 and a clad 13 is bent in its intermediate region in an annular shape to form an annular portion 14. The crossing zone at the annular portion is fixed by a fixing member 15. By incidenting light from its incidence terminal 11a, variations in the distribution of light quantity are eliminated at the annular portion 14 so that the light with distribution of light made uniform is exited from an exit terminal 11b.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an optical fiber having a large positive dispersion in a wavelength band of 1.55 &mgr;m in order to compensate for a negative dispersion inherent in an NZ-DSF in the wavelength band of 1.55 &mgr;m. This optical fiber comprises a depressed cladding structure constituted by a core region; an inner cladding, provided on the outer periphery of the core region, having a lower refractive index; and an outer cladding having a higher refractive index. In this optical fiber, the relative refractive index difference of the core region with respect to the outer cladding is 0.30% or more but 0.50% or less, and the relative refractive index difference of the inner cladding with respect to the outer cladding is −0.50% or more but −0.02% or less. Also, the optical fiber has a dispersion greater than 18 ps/nm/km at a wavelength of 1.55 &mgr;m, and an effective area of 70 &mgr;m2 or more at the wavelength of 1.55 &mgr;m.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for sterilizing a root canal in which the apparatus contains an light source for generating bactericidal ultraviolet rays and an optical fiber coupled to the light source for transmitting the ultraviolet rays to and emitting the rays from an emitting end of the optical fiber placed in the root canal. Also included in a fiber protecting pipe that both protects the fiber and allows the fiber to be easily guided into the root canal. A flexible tube disposed over the emitting end of the root canal protects the exposed end of the optical fiber. Also, an arrangement of two optical fibers allows various shaped fiber protecting pipes to be used and a hand held coupling device couples two optical fibers.
