Abstract: An image reading apparatus and a controlling method for the same are disclosed. When a paper feeding speed needs to be varied temporarily, the scanning operation is suspended, and the scanning module is advanced in the paper feeding direction by a predetermined distance to a point where the paper feeding speed becomes constant.
