摘要： The present invention relates to a filter and a plasma display device thereof, wherein the filter includes an external light shielding sheet which comprises a base unit, and a plurality of pattern units that are formed on the base unit, wherein a bottom, which is wider than a top, of the pattern units is formed as a concave shape.According to the present invention, the plasma display device of the present invention can effectively realize black images and enhance bright room contrast, as an external light shielding sheet, which absorbs and shields as much external light incident upon a plasma display panel PDP as possible, is disposed at a front of the plasma display panel. Also, the sharpness of the display images may be enhanced by reducing the bleeding phenomenon of the display images as well as the adhesiveness of the filter may be enhanced by forming the bottom of the pattern units of the external light shielding sheet as a concave shape in which the center area is depressed into the inside.

摘要： The present invention relates to a plasma display device, and a filter formed in a plasma display panel includes an external light shielding sheet which includes a base unit, and a plurality of pattern units that are formed on the base unit, wherein an angle between an electrode that is formed on the substrate adjacent to the filter and the pattern unit is 5° or less.According to the present invention, the plasma display device can effectively realize black images and enhance bright room contrast, as an external light shielding sheet, which absorbs and shields as much external light incident upon a plasma display panel PDP as possible, is disposed at a front of the plasma display panel. In addition, the plasma display device of the present invention may reduce the moire phenomenon, as the patterns of the external light shielding sheet is diagonally formed at an angle with the electrode or the barrier rib formed in the panel.

The PDP has a display surface, and the filter has a panel side facing the display surface of the PDP and an opposing viewer side facing away from the display surface. The filter includes a base unit. The filter also includes pattern units that absorb external light from the viewer side. The pattern units have boundaries that define widths of pattern tops and widths of pattern bottoms. A distance between a pattern top and a pattern bottom defines a pattern height. A distance between adjacent boundaries, of a pair of adjacent pattern units, at adjacent pattern bottoms can be less than a distance between the adjacent boundaries at adjacent pattern tops, less than the pattern height, and greater than a width of at least one of the pattern bottoms.

摘要： A filter and a plasma display device using the filter are provided. The plasma display device includes a plasma display panel (PDP) which includes an upper substrate and a lower substrate that are coupled to each other; and a filter which is disposed on the upper substrate. The filter includes an external light shield sheet which includes a base unit and a plurality of pattern units that are formed in the base unit, and a distance between bottoms of a pair of adjacent electrodes that are formed on the upper substrate is 2.5-12 times greater than a distance between a pair of adjacent pattern units. Since the plasma display device includes the external light shielding sheet which can absorb and shield as much external light incident upon the PDP as possible, the plasma display device can effectively realize black images and enhance bright room contrast. Since the distance between the pair of adjacent pattern units of the external light shielding sheet is within a predetermined percentage range of the distance between a pair of adjacent black matrices formed on the PDP or the width of the pattern units of the external light shielding sheet is a predetermined percentage range of the width of black matrices formed on the PDP, the plasma display device can reduce the probability of occurrence of the moire phenomenon and enhance the luminance of images displayed by the PDP.

Also, it is possible to prevent the pattern units from being detached from the base unit due to external impact and to effectively shield external light incident upon the PDP from various directions by forming the edge portions or the bottom of the pattern units as a curve having a predetermined curvature.

摘要： There are provided an electromagnetic shielding sheet and a plasma display apparatus. The electromagnetic shielding sheet includes a base sheet; a first layer on a first surface of the base sheet, the first layer including first and second patterns crossing each other; and a second layer on a second surface of the base sheet, the second layer including a third pattern. The first and second patterns include a conductive material, the third pattern includes a light absorbing material, and at least one of the first and second patterns is grounded. Accordingly, conductive patterns for shielding electromagnetic waves and blocking external light are formed on a first surface of a base sheet, and patterns for blocking external light are formed on a second surface of the base sheet, so that the functions of shielding electromagnetic waves and blocking external light can be simultaneously performed using one sheet, and therefore, the ambient contrast ratio of a display image can be enhanced without increasing manufacturing costs. Further, patterns for shielding electromagnetic waves are directly formed a glass member of a filter or an upper substrate of the panel, so that processes of forming an electromagnetic shielding sheet can be easily performed.
