Abstract: This application provides a high dynamic range HDR video processing method, an encoding device, and a decoding device. The method includes: obtaining dynamic metadata of an Nth HDR video frame according to a dynamic metadata generation algorithm; calculating a tone-mapping (tone-mapping) curve parameter of the Nth HDR video frame based on the dynamic metadata of the Nth HDR video frame; generating a tone-mapping curve based on the curve parameter; determining, according to a quality assessment algorithm, distortion D′ caused by the tone-mapping curve; comparing D′ and DT, to determine a mode used by the Nth HDR video frame, where the mode is an automatic mode or a director mode, and DT is a threshold value; and determining metadata of the Nth HDR video frame based on the determined mode used by the Nth HDR video frame.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for processing with a trained neural network, and for training of such neural network for image modification, which relate to image processing and in particular to modification of an image using the processing such as the neural network. The processing is performed to generate an output image. The output image is generated by processing the input image with the neural network. The processing with the neural network includes at least one stage including image down-sampling and filtering of the down-sampled image and at least one stage of image up-sampling. The image down-sampling is performed by applying a strided convolution. According to the application, efficiency of the neural network is increased, which may lead to faster learning and improved performance.

The method comprises obtaining a plurality of parameter sets, wherein each parameter set defines the tone mapping curve, and wherein each parameter set is derived based on one of a plurality of HDR video frames. Further, the method comprises temporally filtering the plurality of parameter sets to obtain a temporally filtered parameter set.

An object is detected within the video based on the motion and the texture, and spatial-time coding parameters are determined based on the strength of the motion, and whether or not the detected objects moves.

For example, a device (encoder or decoder) may obtain a high dynamic range (HDR) video frame and metadata associated to the HDR video frame. The device further obtains a pair of anchor points, based on the HDR video frame and the metadata. The pair of anchor points comprises a first anchor point and a second anchor point of the tone mapping curve. Moreover, the device generates the one or more curve parameters of the tone mapping curve based on the pair of anchor points.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to image processing and in particular to modification of an image using a processing such as neural network. The processing is performed to generate a correction image based on an input image. Then, the input image is modified by combining it with the correction image. The processing with the neural network includes at least one stage including image down-sampling and filtering of the down-sampled image; and at least one stage of image up-sampling. An advantage of such approach is increased efficiency of the neural network, which may lead to faster learning and improved performance. The embodiments provide methods and apparatuses for the processing with a trained neural network, as well as methods and apparatuses for training of such neural network for image modification.
