摘要： A liquid crystal display and a fabricating method thereof for improving an aperture ratio are disclosed. A liquid crystal display (LCD) according to the present invention includes a gate line, a data line and a common line on the thin film transistor array substrate, the gate line crossing the data line to define a pixel region; a thin film transistor near the crossing of the gate line and the data line; a common electrode connected to the common line in the pixel region; and a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor in the pixel area for forming an in-plane electric field in association with the common electrode during an operation of the LCD, wherein an edge of the pixel electrode overlaps the common line with at least one insulating layer therebetween, and an edge of the common electrode overlaps the pixel electrode with said at least one insulating layer therebetween.

摘要： A liquid crystal display and a method for fabricating the same are disclosed, which can yield maximum liquid crystal efficiency from all areas within the pixels by orienting the liquid crystals in a manner that the liquid crystals are twisted by 90° in an area above the electrodes and twisted by 180° in an area in-between the electrodes. The liquid crystal display device includes, a pixel electrode insulated from a counter electrode having a plurality of slits on a first substrate, a second substrate facing into and adhered to the first substrate and having a liquid crystal layer formed therebetween, and an orientation layer formed on each inner surface of the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein one orientation layer is oriented to be twisted by 90° from above the pixel electrode and the other orientation layer is oriented to, be twisted by 180° from above the slit.

The image display device includes: a data processing part for executing bit map conversion, compression, restoration and format-conversion for text data; a memory for storing the bit map data obtained according to the bit map conversion and compression in the data processing part and image data inputted from an arbitrary receiving part, the receiving part receiving one of digital image data and analog image data; an image outputting part for reading the image data from the memory; and a display processing part for mixing the image data read from the image outputting part and the bit map data converted in format from the data processing part. Therefore, the image display device according to the present invention can convert text data in such a manner as to correspond with various resolution, carry out the compression for bit map data, thereby reducing the memory space, and support text data of an HTML format, thereby providing the image with the text data of various shapes.

摘要： A drum type washing machine in which wash water and laundry contained in a rotating tub are heated by steam supplied into the rotating tub, so as to rapidly increase the temperature of the wash water and laundry, thereby being capable of reducing the total wash time while reducing the amount of wash water to be used, and reducing the consumption of energy caused by heating of the wash water. The washing machine includes a steam generating unit for heating water supplied thereto, thereby generating steam, and a control unit for rotating the rotating tub at a high speed to cause the laundry contained in the rotating tub to be in constant contact with an inner peripheral surface of the rotating tub without falling down, by virtue of a centrifugal force generated during the rotation of the rotating tub, the control unit supplying the steam from the steam generating unit into the rotating tub during the high-speed rotation of the rotating tub, to increase the internal temperature of the rotating tub and the temperature of the laundry.
