Upon receiving a touch release input, the folder item is generated and displayed within the outline to arrange the individual items that receive touch inputs therein.

摘要： A portable terminal and a user interface control method thereof are provided. In the terminal and method, patterns of a subject image captured by a camera are recognized and analyzed. First and second images changed according to motion (movement, holding away from or drawing close to a user) of the portable terminal are captured by the camera module. Patterns of the first and second images are recognized. The motion of the portable terminal is analyzed based on the recognized patterns. Control commands corresponding to the analyzed motion are selected. A function corresponding to the selected control command is performed. The portable terminal can be intuitively and simply used as its motion is directly applied to user interface control. User interface can be controlled without an additional part, using a camera installed to the portable terminal. Also, the present invention can resolve the problems caused when the conventional navigation key is operated.

摘要： Provided is a method for displaying information in a mobile terminal having an Electro-Luminescence (EL) region. The method includes determining whether a request for setting an item to be displayed on the EL region is input in a state in which the mobile terminal is in an EL display mode; if a request is input, setting an item to be displayed on the EL region; and displaying contents corresponding to the set item on the EL region in the EL display mode. The method allows information related to a mobile terminal to be consistently displayed at a preset position while performing a specific function of the mobile terminal, thus enabling simultaneous display of the specific function and of information stored in the mobile terminal.

摘要： Provided is a method of controlling a pointer, such as changing between a pointer mode for activating the pointer and a search key mode for deactivating the pointer, in a mobile terminal having a pointing device. The method of controlling a pointer includes detecting movement input by the pointing device; identifying whether the detected movement satisfies a condition of changing a display mode; if the detected movement satisfies a condition of changing a display mode, displaying the pointer by changing the current display mode to a pointer mode; identifying whether a specific key is input; and if the specific key is input, hiding the pointer by changing the current display mode to a search key mode. Additionally, if elapsed time measured after displaying the pointer exceeds a predetermined value, the display mode of the mobile terminal may automatically be changed to a search key mode.
