Abstract: A mobile radio telephone system is supplied which employs a chain or network of land-based radio stations. Different groups of service and communications channels are used by adjacent ones of the land-based radio stations. The mobile stations incorporate means to search for and distinguish between the channels so that a particular group of service and communication channels associated with a given land-based radio station are sought out and used by the mobile.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system for controlling a frequency division multiplex system by means of indicating signals directed to a central processor. Basically, four conditions occur and these are signalled to the central processor in binary form at two access points. Switching information is exchanged between the two access ponts by way of two signalling frequencies transmitted between terminals associated with a calling and a called subscriber. Both rotary dial and pushbutton dialing outputs are sent as combinations of pulses at these two frequencies.

Abstract: This system provides for automatic communications between the subscribers of public telephone networks and mobile sets over a large land area (or along a highway) covered by a plurality of radiotelephone exchanges. A call from a network exchange for a mobile is first transmitted to all these radio exchanges by a service-bus line. When one of the radio exchanges reaches the mobile in its area, it signals itself to the calling exchange and only then the calling exchange proceeds with the extension of the telephone toll connection to that radio exchange.

Abstract: A mobile telephone system is provided with radio telephone and paging equipment which is serviced over a group of channels allotted to a fixed radio telephone station. The latter provides automatic communication between the customers of a public telephone ground network and mobile sets. A free channel is marked by a tone, to be taken in a telephone call. Paging call numbers directed to paging mobile sets are transmitted from the station if the required channel is free. If the channel is not free, these paging calls alternate with the radiotelephone communications. In order to more effectively use the equipment, the called paging numbers are stored and then transmitted in limited trains of numbers.

Abstract: Disclosed is a switching network usable in exchanges of a telecommunications system using frequency division switching. The input and output terminal circuits are interconnected by means of a transmitter to receiver coupling preferably using the air space between the transmitter and receiver as the medium linking the transmitter and receiver. The frequency of the receiver is tuned to the frequency of the transmitter by suitable control circuits. The switching is performed in an enclosed electromagnetically shielded room. Alternatively the principle could be employed with light waves using laser technology or by frequencies transmitted along solid wires.

Abstract: A mobile radio telephone system is provided in which a ''''radio hush'''' condition prevails as long as there is no call or current conversation. The mobile sets are tuned in a standby position to a fixed channel which is only transmitted by the fixed station when there is a selectro call to send out for a terminating call. The station is a standby position is also tuned to a fixed channel (the same, or another one) which is only transmitted by a mobile set starting an originating call. Only a channel-request transmits a free conversation channel marked with an offer tone, and the calling set tunes to this channel for signalling and operation, as usually provided for originating calls.

Abstract: A public mobile radio communication system is provided for a plurality of mobile radio stations in which each mobile station includes either paging devices, or a telephone, or both. The system employs a service radio channel for sending selective calls from a fixed station to terminate at all the mobile stations.
