Abstract:
In a cathode ray tube wherein an electron beam emitted from a cathode electrode is focused by an electron lens and deflected by a deflecting device upon a flourescent screen, a character forming means is provided across the path of the electron beam comprising an insulating substrate and electrode elements formed on the opposite sides of the substrate which are arranged in a matrix. The substrate and electrode elements are formed with aligned perforations at respective cross points of the matrix and the perforations of the electrode elements at selected cross points are caused to create positive field to permit passage of the electron beam to display a selected character, numeral or pattern.
Abstract:
A cathode ray tube for displaying characters and the like is provided with a character forming means comprising a character substrate provided with a plurality of character pattern perforations arranged in the form of characters, a plurality of parallel X-axis electrode elements each having a plurality of perforations and a plurality of parallel Y-axis electrode elements each having a plurality of perforations and these X- and Y-axis electrode elements are arranged in a matrix so that a desired character pattern region is determined by selecting the matrix coordinates of the electrode elements to shape the electron beam passing through the region by the character perforations of the character substrate.
Abstract:
A plurality of luminous diodes and a driving circuit therefor adapted to cause selected combinations of the luminous diodes to luminesce to display selected letters are formed on the same or different sides of a substrate and the assembly is encapsulated by a transparent molded protective coating. The driving circuit in the form of a diode matrix circuit is fabricated by the integrated circuit technique.
