Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device of the type wherein a liquid crystal is interposed between a pair of confronting electrodes and a voltage is impressed across the electrodes for varying the orientation of the axes of the molecules of the liquid crystal, one of the electrodes is comprised by a pair of comb shaped electrodes disposed to correspond to a desired pattern and the teeth of the comb shaped electrodes interleave with each other.
