    摘要: A flow control device constructed at a switch device for connecting a plurality of ring networks for exchanging data of a cell among the ring networks. A user device for transmitting a cell carrying data is connected to each ring network, and it can transmit cells within a window counter number. Such flow control device comprises a buffer monitoring unit for monitoring the number of data in an output buffer, a regulation judging unit for comparing the number of data in each buffer with a first threshold value representing state of the buffer which is in danger of overflow, with a second threshold value representing state of the buffer which is not in danger of overflow, and outputting a regulation notice when the data number is grater than the first threshold value while outputting a regulation notice when the data number is smaller than the second threshold value, and a plurality of traffic controlling units for transmitting to the respective ring network a reset cell at a first interval when no regulation notice is received or the release notice is received while transmitting a reset cell at a second interval which is longer than the first interval when the regulation notice is received.

    摘要: An encrypted packet processing device capable of realizing a predetermined classification process according to a data type while reducing the burden on a processing device in a communication environment in which encrypted packets of different data types exist. A block specifying section specifies a location, in which information necessary for a priority level determination process by a priority level determination section is stored, in an encrypted packet. A specified block decryption section decrypts only a block specified by the block specifying section, and extracts the information necessary for the priority level determination process. The priority level determination section searches a priority level information database using the information extracted by the specified block decryption section as a key, and determines a priority level of the packet.

    摘要: A reception apparatus records a content distributed from a content distribution apparatus on a hard disk. Following an instruction from a viewer, the reception apparatus reproduces the content. The reception apparatus transmits management information including identification information about the content recorded on the hard disk to a management apparatus. The management apparatus stores the information in a management information storage. When the hard disk of the reception apparatus fails, a replacement hard disk is attached to the management apparatus. The management apparatus retrieves, based on the stored management information, the same content as the content recorded on the hard disk of the reception apparatus from a content distribution apparatus, etc., and records the retrieved content on the replacement hard disk. The hard disk of the reception apparatus is then replaced with the replacement hard disk with the content recorded thereon.
