The herein disclosed innovative concept concerns a magnetic angle sensor and a method for operating the same. The sensor includes a magnetoresistive arrangement and a magnetic source being configured to be movable relative to the magnetoresistive arrangement. The magnetoresistive arrangement includes a first magnetoresistive element configured to generate a first output signal, a second magnetoresistive element configured to generate a second output signal, and a third magnetoresistive element configured to generate a third output signal. The first, second and third magnetoresistive elements are oriented relative to each other such that they form a symmetrical geometric arrangement with equal angular distances between each other.
Abstract:
A magnetic sensor may sense a magnetic field during a rotation of a wheel. The sensed magnetic field may represent a profile of the wheel during the rotation. The magnetic sensor may determine, based on the sensed magnetic field, information associated with a possible fault of at least one of the magnetic sensor or the wheel. The magnetic sensor may transmit a first set of output pulses corresponding to the profile of the wheel during the rotation. The first set of output pulses may be transmitted during the rotation of the wheel. The magnetic sensor may transmit a second set of output pulses that corresponds to the information associated with the possible fault.
Abstract:
Magnetic field sensors and sensing methods are provided. A magnetic sensor module is configured to measure a magnetic field whose magnitude oscillates between a first extrema and a second extrema. The magnetic sensor module includes a magnetic sensor configured to generate measurement values in response to sensing the magnetic field, and a sensor circuit. The sensor circuit is configured to generate a measurement signal based on the measurement values, adjust an offset of the measurement signal according to an offset update algorithm and a first characteristic of the measurement signal, generate a pulsed output signal having pulses that are generated based on the adjusted measurement signal crossing the switching threshold, and selectively enable and disable the offset update algorithm based on a second characteristic of the measurement signal.

A magnetic circuit may include a magnetic sensor. The magnetic sensor may determine an adjustment factor associated with calculating a variable switching threshold. The variable switching threshold may be a configurable switching threshold based on which the magnetic sensor provides outputs associated with a speed signal corresponding to a rotation of a tooth wheel. The magnetic sensor may provide an output, associated with the speed signal, based on the variable switching threshold.

A magnetic sensor may include a first sensing element and a second sensing element. The first sensing element may be capable of sensing a first component of a magnetic field that is non-parallel to an axis formed by an intersection of a first plane and a second plane. The first plane may be a plane in which a tooth wheel rotates, and the second plane may include a first surface of the first sensing element and a second surface of the second sensing element. The first component of the magnetic field may be on the second plane. The second sensing element may be capable of sensing a second component of the magnetic field. The second component of the magnetic field may be on the second plane.
