Abstract: A display device includes a display panel having a first area and a second area. The display panel includes a substrate and a plurality of pixels disposed on the substrate and disposed in the first area and the second area, wherein a transmittance of the second area is greater than a transmittance of the first area. The display device further includes a supporting layer supporting the display panel, an adhesive layer connecting the supporting layer and the substrate of the display panel, and an optical sensing module disposed corresponding to the second area and having an aperture being able to accept lights through the second area. An opening is formed in the supporting layer and the adhesive layer, the opening exposes a bottom surface of the substrate, and the optical sensing module is disposed in the opening.

A method of unfolding the foldable display device includes providing a first predetermined angle; sensing a folding angle between the first display portion and the second display portion; comparing the folding angle with the first predetermined angle; changing the folding angle with a first angular velocity when the folding angle is less than the first predetermined angle; and changing the folding angle with a second angular velocity greater than the first angular velocity when the folding angle is equal to or greater than the first predetermined angle.
