摘要: An expandable plate configured to expand and to hold, move and maintain a body part in a specific position as needed in orthopedic surgery. The expandable plate has a bed with a guide assembly formed in a top surface configured to fit to cavity assembly of a track so as to slide in relation thereto. A carriage unit can be positioned on the track to hold a body part in a specific position, whereby when an additional linear dimension is required for a surgical procedure, the track can be expanded to extend the body part to the predetermined position using the same positioner device.

The apparatus further comprises a clamping assembly and an adjustable cross nut assembly. The adjustable cross nut assembly provides clocking and/or adjustable positioning of an internal thread start to provide optimal positioning of the handle that achieves the clamping effect, as the threads are subject to wear and plastic deformation due to use over time.

摘要: A surgical positioner system for a support table having a side rail having a clamp assembly for attaching to the side rail. The clamp assembly having a spring and a locking assembly with movement in the x- and y-plane; and extension provides sliding movement in the z-plane. The extension being dimensioned to be operably connected to said clamp assembly and a rotational assembly. A rotational assembly has a portion for operably connecting to the extension, a device attachment portion, and a rotational assembly operably connected to the device attachment portion for providing rotational thereof. A boot having a holder portion and a flexible attachment can be attached to the device attachment portion. The surgical positioner provides motion from different force factors causing multiple components to move in a coordinated way using such established pivots and useful in performing various surgical procedures including direct anterior approach total hip replacement surgery.

摘要: A sterile pressure pad assembly system, kit and method uses a cage assembly comprising an enclosure and a pad assembly configured as a generally rectangular pad disposed adjacent the patient's limb near the joint to be extended and/or distended. The pad may be affixed by adhesive to the outer surface of an arcuate side and formed from suitable foam and cell structure materials that can be sterilized such as, for example, polyurethane-based foam. The enclosure of the cage assembly is configured with one or more ridges to sufficiently optimize a material strength to the arcuate side of the enclosure so as to not crush under pressure from the surgical distractor unit and/or the weight of the patient's limb of the patient when the sterile cage assembly and pad support a limb of a patient on a support bar as a surgical distractor unit positions the pad in abutment with a popliteal area of a patient's knee joint during a medical procedure.

摘要: A clamp with mount for a surgical retractor is disclosed that is adapted to couple one or more surgical retractors to a base plate. The clamp is configured to allow the surgeon to secure, adjust, and/or remove the retractor system with one hand, and without the need for an assistant to perform such manipulation. The clamp for a base plate also holding the body portion of the patient advantageously reduces the complexity and disadvantages of conventional surgical retractor systems by locating the mount for a surgical retractor below the surgical site in a manner that keeps the body portion and OR table as free as possible from associated obstruction by the retractor system.

摘要: The present invention relates to a carriage assembly and, more particularly, to a carriage apparatus, system, and method for coupling to a base plate and slidably holding a patient positioner, such as a distractor, at one or more angles with respect to an operating table. The carriage assembly may comprise a base, a jaw, and a fastener, which, when tightened, urges the jaw and base to clamp the rail of a baseplate, the baseplate being coupled to a side rail clamp via pins. Tapered openings in the carriage base may hold the patient positioner either vertically or at an angle with respect to the vertical. A secondary carriage may hold a boot configured to hold a foot. The carriages may be linearly translated to position the knee at a precise angles and provide enhanced structural stability.

摘要: A modular surgical patient positioner unit apparatus, system and method for adjustably positioning human joints such as knees for surgical operating procedures having a base plate to support moveably a transformable carriage that can be releasably locked in position and which adjustably supports a boot or other limb holder which can be releasably locked in position by the carriage. The base plate also is configured with a side bar located at a mid-portion of the base plate to secure to an arc clamp configured to secure the positioning system to a side rail of an operating table in a medical procedure on the left or right side of the body. An extension unit also is provided and configured to secure to a lower surface of the base plate to extend the base plate of the system, as needed, for larger limbs of patients, which extension unit is configured with a stud and post locking portions for securing to the base plate and for positioning in a medical procedure on either side of the body.
