    摘要： A patient positioning device is provided for restraining movement of a body lying over a top surface of a table and includes a rigid support frame extending transversely over the top surface of the table. A cervical-thoracic notch restraint is securely fixed to the upper support surface of the support frame, via a repositionable fastener, to thereby inhibit movement of the cervical-thoracic notch restraint along the longitudinal axis of the table. The repositionable fastener comprises a holding strength per unit of surface area that is sufficient to support the weight of the body on the table when in an inclined position relative to a ground surface. In one example, a head stabilizer is used to inhibit lateral movement of the head. In another example, a lateral stabilizing pillow is used to inhibit torsional movement of the body.

The device includes a board, shoulder supports removably coupled to and extending substantially perpendicular from the board, and a cushioning mat positioned to lie between the patient and the board and the shoulder supports when the patient is placed on the device. A locking mechanism removably couples the shoulder supports to the board to allow the cushioning mat to lie flat when the shoulder supports are decoupled from the board and thereby selectively provide access to a neck and shoulders of the patient when the patient is placed on the device.

    摘要： An axillary support device is provided for decompressing the axilla (armpit) and associated structures in a sidelying position. A thoracic cushion provides firm axillary support to a user at the level of the mid to upper thorax, distal to the axilla. A head cushion connected to the thoracic cushion supports the user's head and may maintain a neutral cervical spine alignment position. A connector connecting the cushions creates a valley to receive an upper arm of the user. A back support may be used to maintain the sidelying position. An inflatable bladder may be used to adjust the axillary support device in order to appropriately relieve pressure on the user's axilla and associated structures. With the axillary support device, the upper arm of the user is relatively free to extend perpendicularly in front of the body in the sidelying position with reduced stress on the lateral shoulder and axilla.
