Abstract: Technologies for manipulating a graphical user interface (GUI) of a display of a computing device include a touch screen of the display capable of receiving user input via physical contact of the user's fingers. The computing device determines whether the user has initiated multi-finger input gesture from which and a hand rotation angle may be determined based on touch points corresponding to the physical contact between the user's fingers and the touch screen. Based on the hand rotation angle, the computing device may take an action on the GUI, such as rotate an orientation of the GUI and/or display a virtual keyboard on the GUI relative to the hand rotation angle and/or the touch points. Other embodiments are described herein and claimed.

Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for a system, an apparatus, and a method for determining a number of users and their respective positions relative to a device. One example embodiment includes acquiring touch point data from a hand of a user, clustering the touch point data, and determining a respective position of the user by mapping the clustered touch point data to a pre-defined hand pattern. The touch point data can include a plurality of touch points and a distance between each touch point is used to cluster the touch point data. In one example, the touch point data may be acquired using a touch sensor and the touch sensor can be a touch display.

Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to stylus' for electronic devices, and in particular, to passive stylus' with multi-faceted functionality. A passive stylus has a first end and a second end wherein at the first end, a first nib is present, and at the second end, a second nib is present. The passive stylus may be suited to effect communication with a touch-input device adaptable to receive input from both ends of the stylus. The touch-input device contains code, when executed, to cause the device to initialize a touch application, receive an indication of touch data, identify a tip pattern from the received touch data, and execute a set of pre-determined instructions associated with the identified tip pattern. Furthermore, the touch-input device includes aprocessing unit communicatively coupled to memory. The memory includes code to identify a tip pattern from a set of known tip patterns associated with touch data.
