    摘要: An electrophotographic toner capable of being electrified negatively comprising:(a) a binder resin; and(b) a charge-controlling and coloring agent comprising at least one 2:1 type metal complex of the formula (I): ##STR1## where each of X.sub.1 and X.sub.2, which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy group, a nitro group or a halogen atom, each of m and m' is an integer of 1 to 3, each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy group, a halgen atom, a nitro group, a sulfonamide group, a methylsulfonyl group, an ethylsulfonyl group, an acetyl amino group or a benzoyl amino group, each of n and n' is an integer of 1 to 3, Y.sup..sym. is an ammonium ion, an aliphatic ammonium ion, an alicyclic ammonium ion or a heterocyclic ammonium ion, and M is a chromium atom, a cobalt atom or an iron atom.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is an electrostatic image developing toner, which comprises a binder resin, a colorant and a charge control agent, wherein the charge control agent is a hydrophobicity-imparted product of a xanthene-type dye, which is represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.3, R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are independently hydrogen or a lower alkyl group, R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 are independently a lower alkyl group, and A is a group represented by the formula ##STR2## in which R.sub.8 is a C.sub.8-37 alkyl group, or the formula ##STR3## in which R.sub.9 is a C.sub.1-37 alkyl group, and X is O, S, NH or CH.sub.2, and is contained in a proportion of 0.05 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the binder resin.

The metal complexes are useful as near infrared absorbers.

    摘要: A zinc benzoate compound represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl or aralkyl group; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, independently from each other, each represent an alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, alkoxy or acyl group, an amino group which may be substituted, a nitro group or a halogen atom. The compound of the general formula (1) is colorless, highly stable and has excellent dispersibility in a binder resin for an electrophotographic toner, and can impart excellent frictional electrification properties to a toner, therefore being useful particularly as a charge control agent for an electrophotographic toner.
