    摘要: System and method increase the visibility of critical flight information on electronic displays. An aircraft display system includes a processing unit, a flight management system, a navigation system, a database for storing target data and terrain data, a graphics display generator, and a visual display. The flight management system and/or the navigation system provide real-time aircraft operational and flight control information. The processing unit directs the graphics display generator to generate graphic control signals for the visual display, which increase the transparency of a segment of a zero pitch reference line in the vicinity of a flight path marker on the display.

The system comprises a display screen for graphical display of data, at least one obstacle data source, one or more graphics processors for receiving obstacle data from the at least one obstacle data source, and for providing input to the display screen. The display screen displays obstacles in a 3-dimensional graphical representation of real space. The display size of the obstacles varies based on the distance to the obstacles. Obstacles located beyond a selected distance are displayed as semi-transparent line objects and obstacles located within the selected distance are displayed as semi-transparent polygons.

    摘要: A system for detecting a landing area or runway for an aircraft includes a detection subsystem, a processor architecture, flight deck instrumentation, and a runway feature template database. The system is operated to perform an automated method for visually confirming the presence of a runway on approach. The method obtains sensor data indicative of an approach area of the aircraft, and extracts visually distinguishable features of the approach area from the sensor data. The method also accesses the runway feature template corresponding to the intended approach runway for the aircraft, fits the visually distinguishable features to the runway feature template, and provides flight crew feedback in response to the fitting step.

The instrument tape includes a graphical representation of a scrolling altitude or airspeed range that dynamically scrolls in response to changes in the altitude/airspeed data, along with a graphical representation of a position-dependent altitude/airspeed clearance element that conveys an altitude/airspeed restriction for an approaching geographic position of the aircraft. The content of the position-dependent clearance element is influenced by the position data.

The apparatus is a heads-down display for an aircraft having a monitor configured to generate a display and a processor coupled to the display. The display has a centerline. The processor is configured to align the centerline of the display with a track of the aircraft, and generate on the display a first symbol corresponding to a terrain and a second symbol corresponding to an attitude of the aircraft. The processor is further configured to position the first symbol and the second symbol with reference to the track of the aircraft.

    摘要: The present invention includes a display for viewing information, where a number of lines on the display has a variable line resolution scale. Each of the number of lines corresponds to a value of information, such as angle degrees relative to the horizon line of the sky in the context of avionics, for example. In addition, the present invention may include a value indicator positioned within the number of lines on the display such that the value indicator designates a value of information. Each distance between each of the number of lines may vary, so that the line resolution of the number of lines near the value indicator, for example, is greater than the line resolution further removed from the value indicator. By varying the line resolution using a distortion function, values of information on the display may be more precisely read.
