    摘要: An exemplary photovoltaic device for conversion of an incident wavelength of electromagnetic radiation to electricity has an absorber of incident wavelength of electromagnetic radiation, a trimetasphere in electron transferring contact with the absorber, an anode in electrical contact with the trimetasphere, and a cathode in electrical contact with the absorber. The absorber and trimetasphere can be arranged as a heterojunction or a blended junction. An exemplary electrical circuit has an absorber of incident electromagnetic radiation, a trimetasphere-containing material in electron transferring contact with the absorber, an anode, a cathode and a current path from the anode to the cathode. An exemplary method of converting incident electromagnetic radiation to an electrical signal using a trimetasphere-containing material is also disclosed.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a novel method for isolating fullerenes. In a preferred embodiment, the process purifies metallic nitride fullerenes from non-metallic nitride fullerenes by mixing a solution containing metallic nitride fullerenes with a functionalized silica gel, allowing the mixture to react for an amount of time effective to immobilize non-metallic nitride fullerenes on said gel, and filtering the silica gel to obtain a filtrate containing purified metallic nitride fullerenes separated from other more abundant fullerenes like empty cage fullerenes and classical metallofullerenes. The mixture of fullerenes is added to the silica gel and stirred and filtered, thus separating the fullerenes/silica gel (top of filter) from the filtrate (bottom solution) containing only MNFs. In another embodiment, the process purifies C60 empty cage fullerenes from other empty cage fullerenes with a functionalized silica gel by mixing a solution containing C60 and other empty cage fullerenes with a functionalized silica gel, allowing the mixture to react for an amount of time effective to immobilize the non-C60 fullerenes on said gel, and filtering the silica gel to obtain a filtrate containing purified C60 fullerene separated from other empty cage. This newly developed “Stir and Filter Approach” (SAFA) technique permits purified fullerene samples at ambient or reflux conditions.

    摘要: An exemplary optical limiter device (100) has an optically transmissive substrate (102) and a layer (104) on a first surface (106) of the substrate, the layer having a trimetallic nitride endohedral metallofullerene. The layer can be a thin film of the trimetallic nitride endohedral metallofullerene, a layer material with a cavity containing a solution with the trimetallic nitride endohedral metallofullerene, a sol-gel with a trimetallic nitride endohedral metallofullerene, and a self assembled monolayer with a trimetallic nitride endohedral metallofullerene. The layers of trimetallic nitride endohedral metallofullerenes can be vapor deposited, solution deposited and/or self assembled onto optical components. The third-order nonlinear properties of these films provide desired transmission characteristics.

A folding head panel is secured to the head portion of the frame to place the infant's head against for measuring length by means of a measuring tape running along the longitudinal axis of the top of bed surface. An extensible end section is provided for larger infants. The bed is detachably suspended by three pairs of cords removably secured to a digital scale for weighing in pounds and grams. Included is separate measuring tape for determining the circumference of the infant's head, torso and other desired measurements.
