Abstract:
A liquid container (10) has an outer wall (12) to which is mounted a liquid material receptacle (18). The liquid material receptacle has an open end (20) and a closed end (24). The open end (20) of the liquid material receptacle (18) is sealed by a membrane (34). Further, the liquid material receptacle (18) tapers inwardly from the open end (20) to the closed end (24).
Abstract:
A container (10) has a base (12) on a cap (14). The container (10) has a chamber (38) for liquid. The base (12) on the cap (14) are arranged to be interengaged so as to seal hermetically the chamber (38). The base (12) and the cap (14) have multi-sided portions which interengaged to form the hermetic seal. The cap (14) has outwardly flared sides so that as the cap (14) is rotated relative to the base (12) the cap is caused to move out of the base and the hermetic seal is broken so that the contents of the chamber (38) may be accessed.
Abstract:
An apparatus (10) for determining the adhesive strength of materials has a test rig (12) with a base plate (14). A compression plate (20) is provided above a support (18). The compression plate (20) is urged into engagement with the support (18) by means of springs (22). The compression plate (20) has a recess (30) which receives a mould (32). The support (18) contains a substrate (34) which engages with material to be tested contained in the mould (32).The application also relates to a method which involves measuring the force required to remove the mould (32) from the substrate (34).
Abstract:
A dental capsule (10) for storing a dental powder component (13) and a liquid component (28) in separated condition in which the powder component (13) is contained in a chamber (17) and the liquid component (28) is contained in a pouch (18). The capsule (10) comprises a freely movable member (36) arranged to rupture the pouch (18) upon vibration of the capsule (10) so that the liquid component (28) admixes with the powder component (13) to form a dental paste (38). The compartment of the capsule has a manually removable cap (14) to enable the dental paste (38) to be retrieved for use.
Abstract:
A container 10 for mixing and dispensing of material having a liquid receptacle 14 and a plunger 18. The receptacle 14 has a front portion 36 and the plunger 18 has a forwardly projecting sharp protrusion 42 having a shaft 72 which terminates in a sharp outer end 78, 82. Upon the plunger 18 being depressed the sharp protrusion 42 pierces a front portion 36 of the liquid receptacle 14 and liquid in the receptacle 14 is pushed hydraulically through the front portion 36 into a main chamber 17. Thus the liquid contacts material in the main chamber 17 to form a mixture. The plunger 18 can continue to be depressed so as to break the front portion 36 of the liquid receptacle 14 away and then push the material in the main chamber 17 towards a dispensing nozzle 26. The main chamber 17 has a frangible membrane 22 at a distal end 13 thereof which is hydraulically broken by pressure applied from the material in the main chamber 17 so that the material can be dispensed from the container 10. The container 10 is particularly envisaged for use with mixing and dispensing of dental materials
Abstract:
A liquid container (10) has a base (12) and a cap (14) which interengage to form a hermetically sealed chamber (42). The cap (14) has a curved outer wall (18) and the base has a curved inner wall (36). The outer and inner walls (18, 36) have perspective non-circular portions and are of complementary shape. The cap (14) is able to be rotated axially relative to the base (12) by means of a handle (24) so that the outer and inner curved walls (18, 36) interact such that the cap (14) is released from the base (12) upon axial rotation thereof and the hermetic seal is broken.
Abstract:
A dental container (10) comprising means for containing liquid and solid powder dental materials initially in separated condition. The liquid is contained in a receptacle (22) having an inner wall (26) with a relatively thin weakened section (28). A plunger (30) is mounted in an open outer end (24) of the receptacle (22) initially. The receptacle (22) is inserted at a proximal end of an outer central body (12) whilst a separable nose portion (18) is mounted at a distal end of the outer central body (12).In use, the plunger 30 is used to rupture the wall (26) by hydraulic pressure or by means of a sharp projection (52) to cause the liquid to contact powder material held in a distal end of the outer central body (12) and the nose (18) for mixing to form a dental paste. The nose (18) is subsequently manually detached from the outer central body (12) so that the dental paste can be accessed for use.
Abstract:
A dental syringe including a hollow piston having threads on the inner wall thereof, and an exterior threaded rod disposable within the hollow piston and upon rotation of the rod moving the piston longitudinally for dispensing dental material from the syringe.
Abstract:
A container (10) for mixing and dispensing material comprises a body (12) having a main chamber (17), a dispensing nozzle (26), a liquid receptacle (16) and a plunger (18). The liquid receptacle (16) has a front portion arranged to break away upon pressure being applied by the plunger (18) so that the plunger (18) can traverse the entire length of the body (12). This enables a charge of material in the main chamber (17) to be entirely dispensed through a frangible wall (22) into the nozzle (26). The container (10) is particularly envisaged for use in mixing and dispensing of dental materials.
Abstract:
A liquid container (10) has a base portion (12) and a cap portion (14) which are engaged with one another for relative slidable linear movement. The cap has an upwardly facing recess (29). Initially, the cap portion (12) and the base portion (13) define a hermetically sealed chamber (42) containing a liquid (40). Upon relative movement of the cap portion (14) and the base portion (12), the base enters the chamber (42) and the hermetic seal is broken so that the liquid (40) is urged into the recess (29) of the cap portion (14).
