摘要: A chinstrap harness for a safety helmet, the chinstrap harness comprising first and second elongate side sections of flexible material (12a, 12b, 12c), each side section having a first end and an opposing second end, wherein said first end comprises means (3a, 3b) to connect said chinstrap harness to a safety helmet, and the opposing second end of each side section includes means (1) for releasably coupling said side sections adjacent a user's face. In use, said first side section (12b, 12c) incorporating along its length, and intermediate its first and second ends, a safety device (10) coupled across a break in said second side section (12b, 12c), said safety device (10) being selectively configurable between a first configuration, in which said safety device is free to release when a tensile force applied to said chinstrap harness exceeds a first predetermined threshold, and a second configuration, in which it can sustain, without releasing, a tensile force of at least a second predetermined threshold, said second predetermined threshold being greater than said first predetermined threshold.

摘要: A visor carrier assembly for a safety helmet includes a double-pivot mechanism attachable to each side of a safety helmet and configured to enable a visor to be selectively pivoted. An elongate arm of the double-pivot mechanism includes first and second pivotal couplings, each including a coupling member being a fixed elongate pin having rounded portions at each end, and a coupling region including an aperture defining, along its inner edge, a first notch or aperture within which one of the rounded portions of a respective coupling member is received to define a fixed pivot point, and an arcuate guide wall with which the opposite rounded portion of said respective coupling member engages and having ridges defining grooves or notches for receiving the opposite rounded portion as a respective pivotal coupling is pivoted about the fixed pivot point, each groove or notch defining a respective said visor position.

摘要: A filter cartridge for a respiratory mask includes a housing comprised of an inner receptacle having an open end and an outer cover mounted over said open end of said inner receptacle. The outer cover includes, in a covering surface thereof, an air intake aperture in fluid communication with said inner receptacle. The outer cover is pivotally mounted to the inner receptacle and configured for pivotal movement relative thereto between a first configuration in which there is a gap between said open end of said inner receptacle and said outer cover such that a respiratory airway is defined between said intake aperture and said inner receptacle, and a second configuration in which said outer cover substantially seals said open end of said inner receptacle and said respiratory airway is thereby blocked.
