Reserved tones are determined, and the determined reserved tones are used to transmit a signal having an impulse characteristic in locations of sub-carriers that do not collide with a pilot signal of a preamble in a frame. The signal having the impulse characteristic is transmitted through the reserved tones in a symbol interval for which the preamble is transmitted.
