    摘要: An undervoltage release device for a circuit breaker is disclosed having an operating mechanism, a trip bar, line and load terminals, and a cover. The device includes a housing, a solenoid, upper and lower actuators aligned with a plunger of the solenoid and in selective contact with the trip bar, plunger and actuator reset levers mounted upon the solenoid frame, and pair of terminals in electrical contact with the solenoid coil and line terminals of the breaker, wherein the force of the solenoid corresponds to the line voltage. Also disclosed is a method for tripping a circuit breaker when line voltage drops below a selected value, in a circuit breaker having an operating mechanism and a trip unit with an intermediate latch. The method includes steps of closing the circuit breaker with the operating mechanism, installing the device in a cover of the circuit breaker, the device having a solenoid with a plunger and a plurality of actuators in selective contact with the plunger and the trip unit; and wiring the solenoid in parallel with the load circuit, wherein the magnetic force of the solenoid is proportional to the line voltage and maintains the plunger in contact with the actuators, and wherein the plunger is released by the solenoid when the line voltage drops below the selected value, thereby providing for at least one actuator to contact the trip unit and open the circuit breaker.

    摘要: A light socket configuration originally intended for light sources based on technologies other than light emitting diodes (LEDs) can be upgraded to accommodate an LED light source. The upgraded socket can be backward compatible with the non-LED light sources and thus may accommodate both LED- and non-LED-based light sources. The upgrade can comprise adding heat management technology to the light socket to address heat sensitivity of LED light sources. A structural portion of the socket can be formed from a material that has a relatively high thermal conductivity in order to conduct heat away from the LED light source. The socket may include heat dissipating fins. An associated heat spreader or heat sink can spread, sink, dissipate, or otherwise manage the heat conducted away from the LED light source.

A blocking plate mounted in the socket, with the blocking plate including a blocking shape. A shaft adapter is coupled to the blocking plate and the shaft. If the electrical contacts of the circuit breaker are welded closed and a torque is applied to the operator handle, the blocking shape prevents the handle operator from being locked in an “OFF” position independently of the operating handle position, by covering a locking hole. The shaft adapter may include one of an extended socket and a recessed socket configured to engage the shaft.

    摘要: A direct mount rotary handle operating mechanism for operating a circuit breaker having electrical contacts. The handle mechanism includes a driver coupled to the circuit breaker and a handle having a socket for receiving the driver. The socket is configured to allow the handle to rotate relative to the driver. The handle further includes a movable locking pin. A lock latch is associated with the driver, wherein the lock latch includes a flange portion. When the electrical contacts of the circuit breaker are welded closed and a torque is applied to the handle, the handle rotates to a position in which the pin is blocked from being inserted into the locking hole by the flange portion thereby preventing the handle from being locked in an OFF position when the contacts are welded together.
