摘要: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates interaction between an electronic device and a remote display. The system includes a first application and an encoding apparatus on the electronic device, and a second application and a decoding apparatus on the remote display. The first application obtains graphical output for a display of the electronic device and a set of filtering parameters associated with the graphical output. Next, the encoding apparatus encodes the graphical output, and the first application transmits the graphical output and the filtering parameters to the remote display. Upon receiving the graphical output and the filtering parameters at the remote display, the decoding apparatus decodes the graphical output. The second application then uses the graphical output to drive the remote display and the filtering parameters to obscure a subset of the graphical output on the remote display.

摘要: A secure wireless communication link (pairing) between two devices can be established using cleartext wireless transmissions between devices not joined to a network (“probes”). One device can broadcast a first probe indicating that it is seeking to establish a pairing. The other device can respond with a second probe, and the two devices can establish a shared secret, e.g., by exchanging further information using additional probes. Thereafter, either device can send a message to the other by encrypting the message using a cryptographic key derived from the shared secret; encrypted messages can also be sent within probes. The receiving device can extract an encrypted message from a probe and decrypt it using the cryptographic key. The encrypted message can include credentials usable by the receiving device to join a wireless network.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for providing primary transport service discovery information over one or more alternate transports that are not normally associated with the primary transport services. In one embodiment, the primary transport comprises a first wireless interface (e.g., Bluetooth), and the alternate transport comprises a second wireless interface (e.g., WiFi or WiMAX). Service profile information relating to the primary transport is broadcast to other users over the alternate transport in a more efficient and streamlined manner than that available on the primary transport. The other users store this service profile information so that it can be subsequently accessed for service profile discovery of the transmitting device by those other devices, thereby obviating subsequent transfer of the data over any transport (primary or alternate).

摘要: A network media delivery system includes client devices and a host device. Each client device has a network interface, an engine for processing media data, and a media interface. The host device, which can be a computer, establishes network communication links with the client devices, which can be networked media stations, and sends media data to the client devices. The media data can be sent wirelessly as packets of media data transmitted at intervals to each client device. In one embodiment, the host device controls processing of media data such that processed media is delivered in a synchronized manner at each of the client devices. In another embodiment, the host device controls processing of media data such that processed media is delivered in a synchronized manner at the host device and at least one client device.

摘要: A wireless network may contain access points that run a network management service. The service may monitor the access points and associated wireless access control settings. Wireless access control settings may be changed by a user to add or remote authorized client devices. The network management service may automatically detect changes to the network and may synchronize settings between access points accordingly. Each access point may broadcast a service name. The service name may include a wireless access point participant identifier, a cloud identifier that is based on a service set identifier, and a commit identifier that is based on a hash of the wireless access control settings for the broadcasting wireless access point. Cloud identifiers can be compared to identify whether a new access point should be synchronized. Participant identifiers may be compared to identify leaders. Commit identifiers can be compared to detect changes in wireless settings.
