The device includes at least one pair of electromagnetic wiper members and a second wiper member associated with the at least one pair of electromagnetic wiper members. The second wiper member is designed to apply to the element a jet of gas with a target area essentially according to a line transversely of the element with respect to the direction of the transport path in order to assist the electromagnetic wiper member in the wiping of superfluous molten metal from the element.

    摘要: A device for slowing down the non-solidified portions of a cast strand during continuous casting of billets or blooms. The device comprises a group of at least three separate molds (1-4) which are open in the direction of casting and which are arranged such that each one is supplied with a flow of melt. The device also comprises a number of magnetic core parts (5-8), and at least one magnetic-field generating member (9-13), adapted to generate and transfer, together with the magnetic core parts, a static magnetic field or a periodic low-frequency magnetic field to the inflowing melt in such a way that the movement of the melt is slowed down. The magnetic core parts and the magnetic-field generating members are arranged such that, together with all the molds in the group, they form a common closed magnetic circuit. All the molds included in the group are arranged in series with each other in the closed magnetic circuit.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a device for continuous or semi-continuous casting of a metal material. The device comprises a first arrangement comprising a coil (7) having an extension around the casting mould (2) in an area, which is arranged to comprise molten metal material. The coil (7) is arranged to be fed with alternating current such that a varying magnetic field generated and is applied to the molten metal material in the casting mould (2). The device also comprises a second arrangement comprising at least two magnetic poles (8), which are provided at opposite sides of the casting mould (2). The poles (8) are arranged to supply a static or periodic low-frequency magnetic field to the molten metal material in the casting area. The poles (8) comprise at least a portion (11) which comprises a plurality of material layers which are electrically insulated from each other.

    摘要: A system for stirring in continuous casting is formed by an inductive stirrer which inductively stirs molten metal in a continuously cast strand and at least one set of two water-cooling pipes positioned in front of the stirrer and having nozzles which eject water cooling-sprays against the strand. The two pipes have ends extending beyond the field and between their ends are electrically isolated from each other and the stirrer. By electrically interconnecting these ends outside of the field, the two pipes form a closed electric loop in which currents induced by the stirrers field cancel so that the net current flow is zero and the stirrer's field is not shielded from the strand.
