Abstract: A display device is provided with an image processing circuit that outputs a pixel value of each pixel to a pixel driving circuit, the pixel driving circuit that inputs a pixel voltage to each of pixels based on the pixel value of each of the pixels, and a control circuit that detects a defective pixel. Here, the image processing circuit corrects the pixel value of the defective pixel in the image data to be displayed which is input to the image processing circuit, to a pixel value for black, and then outputs each pixel value of the image data to be displayed in which the pixel value of the defective pixel is corrected to the pixel value for black, to the pixel driving circuit.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to, in an organic EL display device in which an initialization voltage is applied, extend the time period usable to write a video voltage as compared with the conventional art. In order to achieve this object, the organic EL display device includes a plurality of pixels each including an organic EL element; a plurality of video lines that supply a video voltage to each of the plurality of pixels; a plurality of scanning lines that supply a scanning voltage to each of the plurality of pixels; a unit that supplies a selection scanning voltage concurrently to an N number of scanning lines among the plurality of scanning lines, and supplies an initialization voltage to each of the plurality of video lines, in a k'th scanning period; and a unit that supplies a selection scanning voltage sequentially to the N number of scanning lines, and supplies video voltages to each of the plurality of video lines, in (k+1)th through (k+N)th scanning periods respectively. N is an integer of 2 or greater (2≦N) and k is any positive integer.

Abstract: A display device allows an optimal display mode to be selected in accordance with the form of use, so that the total power consumption is decreased. The display device includes an organic EL display panel for displaying a monochromatic image; and a color shutter glass unit including a pair of shutters. The pair of shutters are each controllable to be in a light transmissive state for a first color, a second color and a third color or in a light non-transmissive state. The pair of shutters corresponding to left and right glasses are each controllable in synchronization with display of an image on the organic EL display panel, so that one of a monochromatic image display mode, a color image display mode, a monochromatic three-dimensional image display mode, and a color three-dimensional image display mode is selected.
