摘要： A system, method and apparatus for processing a calendar database for time zone shifting are provided. The calendar database is processed to determine a first set of event data associated with a first time zone and a second set of event data associated with a second time zone. Time zone calendar view data is produced, the time zone calendar view data enabled to control a display device to produce a time zone calendar view comprising representations of the first set and the second set sorted according to their associated time zones, said representations displayed on a timeline adjacent to one another, with concurrent times in each of the first time zone and second time zone temporally aligned. A display device is controlled, via the time zone calendar view data, to produce the time zone calendar view.

The new calendar data is stored in association with countdown reminder flag data in the calendar database. The calendar database is processed to produce countdown reminder view data comprising the new calendar data and countdown reminder data determined by processing the new calendar data and a current date. The countdown reminder view data is enabled to control a display device to produce a countdown reminder view comprising the new calendar data and the countdown reminder data, the countdown reminder view being one of a plurality of calendar views that can be produced from the calendar database. The display device is controlling via the countdown reminder view data to produce the countdown reminder view.

The operational components include a controller connected to the touch-sensitive input surface and a processor connected to the controller and the display.

In one embodiment, there is provided a method of controlling a handheld electronic device, comprising: receiving a motion signal as input from a motion detection subsystem in response to a movement of the device; determining from the motion signal a cadence parameter associated with the movement of the electronic device; determining whether the cadence parameter is greater than or equal to a cadence reference level; performing a first command when the cadence parameter is greater than or equal to the cadence reference level; and performing a second command is performed when the cadence parameter is less than the cadence reference level.

摘要： A wireless communications device includes a location-dependent alarm which a user can set to be triggered at a target location. A GPS receiver embedded in the wireless device provides position data representative of the current location. When the current location matches the target location, the alarm is triggered. This enables the user to set the alarm to wake him upon arrival at a particular location, e.g. a specific station on a commuter train. In another example, the wireless device can wake the user at one time of morning if the user is sleeping in one location and at a second time if the user is sleeping in a second location.
