摘要: The disclosure provides a joint replacement coupling comprising joint members with opposing joint surfaces, wherein one of the members has a magnetic portion therein which comprises an array of magnets, and the other of the members has a conduction portion therein that comprises a conductive surface. The magnets are arranged to produce a magnetic field that contacts the conduction portion. The conduction portion is optionally positioned so that at least a portion of the conductive surface contacts the magnetic field so that relative motion between the opposing joint surfaces induces current loops in the conductive surface and produces a repulsive force against the magnetic portion, thereby reducing friction between the joint surfaces, optionally separating the joint surfaces.

摘要: A method of charging a battery is provided that alters the amount of energy stored within the battery based upon a temperature profile across time. Battery materials and components, like liquid electrolyte or electrodes for instance, can be damaged when a rechargeable cell is exposed to elevated temperatures for extended amounts of time, thereby reducing the overall amount of energy that may be stored within the cell. This method monitors stored energy capacity and temperature. When a fully-charged cell is held at a temperature that exceeds a predetermined temperature threshold for an extended amount of time, the method discharges the cell, thereby reducing the amount of energy stored within the cell. For example, when a single, lithium-ion cell is maintained at 4.2 V for over 10 hours, the method will discharge the cell by roughly 1% or 50 mV. The discharge may be either automatic, or at the prompt of a user.

摘要: A graph processing core includes a plurality of processing pipelines and an interrupt controller unit. Each processing pipeline executes one or more threads and includes, for each thread, a register indicating a currently executing program counter vector and another register indicating an interrupt or exception handler vector. The interrupt controller unit may receive interrupt or exception notifications from the processing pipelines, determine a handler vector based on the notification and a set of registers of the interrupt controller unit, and transmit the handler vector to the processing pipeline that issued the interrupt or exception notification. Further, the issuing pipeline may receive the handler vector from the interrupt controller unit, write a value in the first register into the second register, write the handler vector into the first register, and invoke an interrupt or exception hander based on the value written into the first register.

摘要: A readmission risk prediction model is generated and used for identifying patients having elevated risk of readmission and determining inpatient treatment and outpatient activities based on readmission risk. Readmission risk prediction models may be generated for a variety of different clinical conditions using logistic regression techniques. When a patient is admitted to a hospital, the patient's condition is identified and a corresponding readmission risk prediction model is employed to identify the patient's risk of readmission. The readmission risk may be presented to a clinician and employed to recommend interventions intended to treat the patient and reduce the probability of readmission for the patient. The patient's readmission risk may also be calculated after the patient has been discharged and used for planning outpatient activities for the patient.

摘要: A method, system, medium, and graphical user interface are provided for managing treatment of patients on anticoagulant medications. Patients undergoing anticoagulant treatment are identified. A consolidated list of anticoagulant patients is generated. The list includes patient information, prescribed anticoagulant medications, reasons for treatment, and laboratory test values, among other data. It is determined that a laboratory test result associated with an anticoagulant medication is outside of a desired range. Guidelines associated with provision of the medication are identified and provided to a clinician via a graphical user interface. The GUI provides a centralized consolidated presentation of anticoagulant patient information that allows clinicians to more easily access the information and to more quickly identify activities to be performed for anticoagulant patients. Clinicians may also enter or change orders, document treatment, and receive alerts regarding treatment of anticoagulant patients.
