    摘要: This invention is concerned with sealing glasses exhibiting a coefficient of absorption of infra-red radiation within the range of 0.7-4 microns of at least 98%, an average coefficient of thermal expansion over the range of 20.degree.-300.degree. C. between 88-92.5.times.10.sup.-7 /.degree.C., and a volatilization of less than about 200 ppm at the sealing temperature, said glass being essentially free from K.sub.2 O and B.sub.2 O.sub.3 and consisting essentially, in weight percent on the oxide basis as calculated from the batch, of______________________________________ SiO.sub.2 67-73 Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 3.5-6.0 Li.sub.2 O 1.0-3.0 Na.sub.2 O 10-16 BaO 3.0-5.5 Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 2.0-4.0 F 0.1-0.4 TiO.sub.2 0-3 ZrO.sub.2 0-3 ZnO 0-2 TiO.sub.2 + ZrO.sub.2 + ZnO 0-4 ______________________________________ the sum of those components constituting at least 98% by weight of the glasses. The glasses are especially suitable as envelopes for reed switches.

    摘要: A method of tinting a sheet of transparent polyurethane comprising a coloring operation followed by a fixation operation.The aforesaid coloring operation is carried out through immersion of the polyurethane into a bath maintained under continuous agitation and formed of a dispersion of one or several colorants in an aqueous solution containing a surfactant or wetting agent, while the aforesaid fixation operation is carried out through rinsing in a boiling aqueous solution of sodium alkyl sulfonate of the type known under the mark "Teepol".The application to a double or composite sheet preformed to a thin laminate, that is to say, one layer of a thermoplastic polyurethane and one other layer of a thermosetting polyurethane.In a particularly useful embodiment of the invention the tinted polyurethane serves as a selective filter having almost zero transmission in the so-called cutoff range of wavelengths lying between about 350-560 nm. Eyeglasses made from such lenses are useful for victims of aphakia and retinitis pigmentosa.

    摘要: This invention concerns an improved method for fabricating transparent laminated polarizing glasses consisting of a substrate of inorganic or organic glass, a coating of polarizing properties deposited upon one surface of the substrate, and an integral, optically transparent composite film consisting, on the one hand, of one lamina of thermoplastic polyurethane of adhesive properties, and, on the other hand, of one lamina of thermosetting polyurethane of anti-lacerative and self-regenerating properties; the thermoplastic polyurethane ply adhering to the polarizing coating. The method comprises applying the polarizing coating to the substrate, then treating at least the coated surface of the substrate with a aqueous solution containing .gamma.-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane or .gamma.-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, and thereafter applying said composite film.
