摘要: An improved apparatus for automatically printing two faces of an object. The present invention is an attachment for use with a screen printing press of the type shown in U.S. Pat. No. 3,090,300, issued to Louis Gilbert Dubuit on May 21, 1963. The attachment permits the utilization of two separate sections of the same screen to print the face and reverse side of an object of revolution, such as a bottle, and particularly bottles of oval or irregular shape. The attachment consists of a main drive train which rotates the bottle at the same surface speed as the movement of the screen. Means are provided to flip or invert the bottle 180.degree. during the return stroke with a separate means provided to shift the screen relative to the drive, presenting a different section of the screen to the reverse side of the bottle for printing when the machine cycles through its normal print stroke. As is customary in printing irregular objects, the squeegee is held stationary and the screen and object move at the same speed beneath the squeegee to print the impression in the screen on the work.

摘要: Semi-automatic screen printing equipment for multi-color printing of cylindrical objects wherein precise color-to-color registration may be achieved. A programmable color sensor, photoelectric system using fiber optics is preferably employed for reading a color image reflection from a rotating object and feeding a resulting signal into a pre-programmed color selector for providing an electrical signal to an electric clutch. The electric clutch engages a mechanical interlock drive between the screen printing plate and the object for precise color to color registered printing. A fixture is used for rotatably supporting an object to be printed. A screen and a squeegee for contacting the screen are used to force printing material through openings in the screen for application to the object surface. A first rotatable shaft is connected to the fixture, and a second rotatable shaft is provided. Clutch means connect these shafts for engaging and disengaging driving action therebetween. A first ratchet is mounted on the second shaft for rotation therewith, and a first pawl is located in a fixed position adjacent this shaft and is engageable with the first ratchet to restrict rotation of the second shaft in one direction while permitting rotation of the second shaft in the opposite direction. A second ratchet is mounted adjacent the second shaft, and a second pawl is mounted on the second shaft and is engageable with the second ratchet whereby rotation of this ratchet in the opposite direction operates to rotate the second shaft.

摘要: An improved low cost screen printing apparatus for printing on both flat and curvilinear objects. Two vertically aligned shafts support the printing head and, by following the pivotal motion of an arm, raise and lower the printing head relative to the object being printed with a straight vertical displacement, resulting from the controlled movement of the upper shaft cooperating with arcuate channels formed in the end supports. The squeegee assembly operates in a timed relationship with the raising and lowering of the screen head to alternately lower the squeegee and raise the flood bar for forcing ink through the screen in the print cycle and raise the squeegee and lower the flood bar to flood the screen on the return cycle. When the screen is in the raised position, the squeegee assembly and screen frame are selectively connectable to a reciprocating carriage, for printing either curvilinear or flat objects.
