    摘要: A system and method for determining an SMS retransmission schedule is provided. When a special error code is received by an SMSC, the SMSC can calculate the response time. The response time is the time that lapsed between forwarding the SMS message for delivery and receiving an error code. If the response time exceeds a response time threshold, the error code can be considered as falsely generated. A special retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message. If the response time does not exceed a response time threshold, a different retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message.

    摘要: An advanced message waiting indication system includes the ability to provide message waiting indicators for a plurality of voice mail (“VM”) systems. When a message is left on a remote VM system, a message waiting notification is passed to a centralized VM system. The centralized VM system can connect to the remote VM system, authenticate as the user, download the messages and accompanying data, and then disconnect from the remote VM system. The message and accompanying data can then be used to determine a message waiting indicator (MWI) that is then passed to an electronic device for display. The MWI can inform a user about many aspects of the waiting messages.

    摘要: Media content that meets pre-fetching criteria may be distributed to the device, in a non-requested instance, and stored in the pre-fetched segments database. Rather than relying on caching methods for the first-time access of a media object, at least a portion of the media object may be pre-stored, prior to any requests for access, on the client's device. Thus, when a user attempts to access a particular media stream from the network, if the client's device already has a segment of the desired media object stored, the stored segment access can be directly from the client's device. To further efficiently use bandwidth, the distribution of the segment of a media object to be stored on a user's local machine, the distribution may be done out of band or based on a balance of network resources.
