摘要: A system and methodology that can utilize attachment data collected by a set of femto access points (FAPs) to localize, predict, and/or weight potential wireless communication traffic within and between areas, is provided. Moreover, the attachment data can be indicative of user equipment (UE) density/traffic within coverage areas of respective femtocells. The attachment data can be consolidated and analyzed to identify location and motion of a UE “swarm”. Moreover an automatic cell planning (ACP) component can be employed to utilize the attachment data for determining an optimal macro site and optimal antenna setting(s) that facilitate steering/tuning the macro antenna beam to focus upon the swarm area. In addition, the ACP component can facilitate reconfiguration of the macro antenna beam as reported swarm concentrations shift between the FAPs.

摘要: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, obtaining a message and an importance rating for the message where the importance rating is determined by a second communications management agent of a server based on an analysis of content of the message. The system can access rating feedback information associated with the second communications management agent. A rating accuracy for the importance rating of the particular message can be determined based on the rating feedback information, and the method of providing the message to the intended recipient can be adjusted based on the determined accuracy. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a method for receiving one or more wireless digital television signals, wherein each of the one or more wireless digital television signals comprise a plurality of data segments for presenting media content, buffering the plurality of data segments of each of the one or more wireless digital television signals to generate one or more buffered data segments to cause a presentation delay of the media content, and detecting a missing data segment in the one or more buffered data segments. The method can further include transmitting a first request to a cellular communication system to provide the missing data segment, and receiving from the cellular communication system the missing data segment prior to an expiration of the presentation delay to continue a presentation of the media content without interruption. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: A low-cost system and methodology that facilitates improved femto access control by employing Bluetooth® technology is provided. Bluetooth-based femto access control utilizes a Bluetooth modem in a femto access point (FAP) that broadcasts a unique Bluetooth identity (ID). Nearby UEs can detect the femtocell and employ the Bluetooth ID for idle mode reselection and active mode handover behavior. Specifically, on detecting a femtocell, a UE can perform Bluetooth pairing with the FAP prior to performing attachment signaling. Moreover, only if Bluetooth signaling is successful, the UE proceeds to attach to the FAP. Thus, the system and method disclosed herein can control the UEs that attach to the femtocell, thereby reducing the signaling load and improving battery life of the UEs.

The standard inquiry message can have an importance rating based on an urgency of the inquiry command and based on behavior information associated with the first user. The processor can deliver the standard inquiry message and the importance rating to a communications management agent of a second communication device, where an inquiry indicator accompanies the delivery of the standard inquiry message at the second communication device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The notification module is configured to notify a master device that the one of the control limits for the user device has been exceeded, to receive a request to disable the user device, and to disable the user device in response to the request.

摘要: A system for delayed message delivery can include an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network that is in communication with at least one of a first user equipment and a second user equipment, and a message application server. The message application server can be configured to receive a message sent from the first user equipment, store the message temporarily in accordance with a time parameter, and send the message to a gateway when the time parameter is satisfied. The gateway can be configured to receive a message formatted in accordance with a first protocol used by the IMS network and convert the message into a format in accordance with a second protocol used by a message center. The message center can be configured to receive the message formatted in accordance with the second protocol and forward the message to the second user equipment. Other systems for delayed message delivery and corresponding methods are disclosed.
