    摘要: The present invention provides a method of printing which includes providing a substrate having an inked surface. The inked surface is typically achieved using an offset lithographic printing press. A thermoplastic polymer powder is applied to the inked surface. The surface is then fused. An advantage of the prepared substrate is that there is reduced contamination of electrostatographic fusing systems when fused by heat and pressure fixing. Another aspect of the invention further provides a method of fusing a substrate having an inked surface wherein a thermoplastic powder has been applied to the inked surface prior to stacking the uncured offset prints.

    摘要: The invention relates to cleaning deposits from rollers in a fusing apparatus for a printer. Cleaning devices and processes for cleaning a moving surface in a printer are provided. According to just one aspect of the invention, a common mount is provided. A first cleaning blade defines a first edge configured to engage the moving surface in the printer and has a first marginal end opposite the first edge. A second cleaning blade defines a second edge configured to engage the moving surface in the printer and has a second marginal end opposite the second edge. The first marginal end and the second marginal end are held by the common mount.

The contamination can create regions of cold spots, which in turn results in poor fusing. Other image defects may result. According the various aspects of the invention, a heater roller cleaner, method and apparatus are provided for applying an array of differential pressure generating areas to a heater roller surface in a fuser assembly while rotating the heater roller surface.

    摘要: A process for the manufacture of iodopropynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC) is disclosed wherein the subject reaction is carried out in an aqueous solution of a suitable surfactant. The iodination reactant is metallic iodide salt which serves as a donor of I+ ions. The I+ ion is generated on an as needed basis, during the reaction sequence, hence the formation of undesirable isomers of IPBC are minimized. The process of this invention produces a highly purified IPBC having, preferably, a low moisture content (wet-cake). The IPBC produced by such a process is also disclosed herein.
