摘要: An input device include a deformable tip that is adjustable to define a shape tip configuration. Exemplary tip shapes may include multiple types of oil brushes or a Chinese brush, among other alternatives. In some cases, the deformable tip may be more rigid in a jammed tip configuration in which solid particles in a membrane are jammed together using a vacuum pump. In some examples, at least a portion of the deformable tip may be illuminated in a color to be used in the digital painting application.

摘要: Technologies pertaining to computing depth images of a scene that includes a mobile object based upon the principle of light falloff are described herein. An infrared image of a scene that includes a mobile object is captured, wherein the infrared image has a plurality of pixels having a respective plurality of intensity values. A depth image for the scene is computed based at least in part upon square roots of respective intensity values in the infrared image.

摘要: Expandable application representation techniques are described. The techniques may include support of an expandable tile that may function as an intermediary within a root level (e.g., start menu or screen) of a file system. The expandable tile, for instance, may be output via a gesture to gain additional information that was not included in an unexpanded version of the tile, may be utilized to provide inputs to an application such that a user, and so on. Thus, this may support non-modal interaction by a user. Techniques are also described in which the expanded representation is included in a taskbar, which may also be used for non-modal interaction, sending of content represented in the representation to a device or application, continuation of interaction initiated with the representation by a mobile computing device, and so on. Expandable tile techniques may also be utilized to support interaction between shells of an operating system, such as a desktop and immersive shell. Further description of these and other examples involving and not involving an expandable tile are also contemplated.

摘要: A collapsible shell cover for a computing device having a holder portion, an input device portion, and kickstand portion is described that is configured to support a computing device at a viewing angle in an open configuration and to form a shell cover for the computing device in a collapsed configuration. The holder may receive the computing device between edge members having support lips for support. The input device and kickstand are rotatably secured to the holder at opposing ends of the edge members. In the open configuration, the holder is positioned at the viewing angle, the kickstand is rotated for support at a rear of the holder, and the input device is rotated to extend outward from a front of the holder. In the collapsed configuration, the holder, input device, and kickstand portion are aligned in a common plane to form the shell cover for the computing device.

摘要: Techniques including use of a hinged cover for a computing device are described. In one or more implementation, a system includes a computing device having a slate form factor and an input device. The input device has a cover configured to assume a closed configuration in which first and second cover portions of the cover at least partially cover a display device of the computing device and an open configuration in which the display device and input functionality usable to initiate one or more operations of the computing device are exposed. The input device also has a hinge mechanism configured such that when the cover is in the open configuration the first and second members form a support structure, at a rear of the computing device that opposes a side of the computing device having the display device.

In one or more implementations, an input device includes a housing, input functionality available via a surface of the housing, and a support mechanism. The input functionality is configured to initiate one or more inputs that are configured to be communicatively coupled to a computing device to initiate one or more operations of the computing device. The support mechanism configured to assume a closed configuration in which a majority of the support mechanism is disposed within the housing and an open configuration in which the support mechanism is disposed outside of the housing and arranged as forming a bend to support a rear of a computing device having a slate configuration.
