摘要: Methods and systems that utilize explosive and cryogenic means to establish fluid communication to areas away from the well bore walls are disclosed. A first fracture is induced in the subterranean formation. The first fracture is initiated at about a fracturing location and the initiation of the first fracture is characterized by a first orientation line. The first fracture temporarily alters a stress field in the subterranean formation. Explosives are then used to induce a second fracture in the subterranean formation. The second fracture is initiated at about the fracturing location and the initiation of the second fracture is characterized by a second orientation line. The first orientation line and the second orientation line have an angular disposition to each other.

摘要: The invention relates to methods and apparatus for creating multiple fractures in subterranean formations. The apparatus is a jetting tool having a plurality of sets of jetting nozzles so that the sets of nozzles are substantially parallel to one another such that parallel cavities may be formed substantially simultaneously in the formation. The jetting nozzles may be adapted to provide a fluid jet that flares outwardly from the nozzle. The nozzles also may be aligned such that cavities in the formation overlap to form a single cavity. The nozzles may be further adapted so that holes jetted into the casing thereby are still spaced from one another. Methods of fracturing subterranean formations using the apparatus are also disclosed.

摘要: According to one embodiment of the invention, a flow switchable check valve includes a housing, a guide member having a bore extending therethrough disposed within the housing, and a poppet having a head and a stem. The head has an upstream surface engaged with a seating surface on the housing when the poppet is in a first position. A pin extends into a groove such that the pin follows a pattern of the groove when the poppet is translated within the housing. The pattern is configured to direct the poppet from the first position to a second position when a force is applied to the head, and further configured to direct the poppet from the second position to a third position when the force is removed from the head, in which the third position is downstream from the first position.

摘要: A fluid inflatable packer includes a mandrel having an elongated tubular body with a number of openings along its length or other open architecture. An inflatable element is disposed about the elongated tubular body of the mandrel or the interior of the fluid inflatable packer. The inflatable element is exposed to an interior of the mandrel through the openings or otherwise. The inflatable element expands and contracts with pressure of process fluids in the interior of the mandrel or the fluid inflatable packer. The process fluids may be unfiltered and include five or more pounds of sand or other solids per gallon.

摘要: In a system and method of fracturing a subterranean formation, fluid for perforating is received in a downhole tool through a tubing string, the downhole tool residing in a wellbore. A wall of the wellbore is perforated proximate the downhole tool. A fluid for fracturing is received in the downhole tool through the tubing string. The subterranean formation proximate the downhole tool is fractured. The operations of receiving a fluid for perforating, perforating, receiving a fluid for fracturing, and fracturing are performed while keeping at least a portion of the downhole tool in the wellbore.
