Abstract: An apparatus for buoyancy driven filtration includes a tank and a filter assembly. The tank preferably includes a cylindrical sidewall, a circular base and a roof. The sidewall extends upward from the perimeter of the base wall and the roof extends across the top of the sidewall. A travel stop extends downward from the roof. A liquid feedstock flows through a storm water inlet. At least one overflow port is provided through the sidewall. The filter assembly includes a filter element and at least one buoyancy element disposed on a bottom of the filter medium. As water flows through the storm water inlet, the water finds its level above the filter medium to provide a liquid feedstock, some of which penetrates the filter medium to create a filtrate. As the tank fills, the filter assembly rises on top of the filtrate as provided by the buoyancy element.

Abstract: In order to avoid the necessity of having a range of sizes of tools for the mounting and removal of a plurality of resiliently deformable plugs of different transverse dimensions on the ends of associated tubes, there is provided a plurality of such plugs which can all be mounted on, or removed from, the ends of the associated tubes using the same tool. In the plugs, each of which comprises a circular disc portion, an annular skirt portion projecting from the periphery of the disc portion to one side thereof, and a pin member which projects in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the plug from the center of the disc portion to said one side thereof, with the skirt portion presenting an outwardly directed annular closure member having an outer diameter which is reducible by resilient deflection of the disc portion to either side thereof, the transverse cross-sectional dimensions of the pin members of the plugs are the same. Furthermore, the pin member of each plug is circular in transverse cross-section thereby to facilitate, during the mounting or removal of the plug, applying a force which results in the resilient deflection of the disc portion of the plug being substantially symmetrical about the center of the disc portion so that the reduction in the outer diameter of the annular closure member during this operation is substantially uniform.

Abstract: In an electrical anti-short bushing comprising a tubular portion and an outwardly extending flange portion presented by one end of the tubular portion, the bushing which is of split form having a discontinuity extending throughout its axial length is provided with two outwardly projecting, circumferentially spaced ribs which extend axially from the flange portion along at least a portion of the tubular portion of the bushing, with the part of the tubular portion between the ribs being diametrically opposite the axially extending discontinuity. Thus, when the bushing is operatively mounted on an electrical cable of the type known as BX cable with the tubular portion of the bushing between the outer casing of the cable and the insulated conductor wires disposed therethrough the sharp, jagged edge formed when the helically wound metal cladding strip constituting the outer casing of the cable is cut may be disposed between the ribs, thereby substantially to prevent this sharp, jagged cut coming into alignment with the axial discontinuity in the bushing. An inspection notch may be provided in the outer edge of the flange portion of the bushing between the ribs, and a resiliently deformable prong which is presented by the inner face of the tubular portion of the bushing and projects, in a direction inclined towards the longitudinal axis thereof, towards and beyond the flange portion of the bushing operatively serves to prevent inadvertent withdrawal of the bushing once it is installed.
