摘要: An improved surgical ligating instrument has been invented. The improvements comprise crimping means having canted jaws and advancing means having a clip actuator, said actuator having a first and second pawl in alternate relationship.A surgical ligating instrument has also been invented. The instrument comprisesa. a housing having a force activating and translating mechanism; b. loading mechanism having an injector, the terminal end adjacent a single clip; c. an advancing mechanism having a pair of aligned members, the initial end of said members contained in said housing and the terminal end containing jaws; a clip actuator rotatably mounted adjacent the initial end of said jaws; a spring, a pusher at the terminal end of said spring, and a plurality of clips, the rearmost clip adjacent said pusher and the frontmost clip contained by said actuator; and d. a crimping mechanism having a crimp bar.

摘要: A self contained hot stick mounted radio transmitting module may be permanently mounted on or temporarily pushed against the power conductor of an electrical transmission line. The module is capable of measuring the potential difference between the conductor and ground. The module digitizes and transmits the value of the potential difference to a ground receiver. The module is donut shaped and opens like a pair of jaws. The contact with the power line is accomplished via a resilient conductive elastomer that covers the surfaces in contact with the power conductor. The potential difference between ground and the power conductor is measured with an operational amplifier in an integrating configuration to convert the leakage current from the module to ground into a proportional voltage from a low impedance source. The integrator outputs a voltage proportional to the current flowing into the equivalent capacitance formed by the outer surface of the module and ground. The current is generated by the voltage difference between the power conductor and ground. The power conductor is engaged by a pair of jaws inserts comprising two concentric conducting rings separated by a thin insulating layer forming a large capacitor. The electronic components within the unit are protected by a signal conditioning network to preclude destruction of components in the event of lightning strikes or other overvoltage conditions.

摘要: A microfiche card storage and retrieval system comprising a carousel for storing microfiche cards, card transport means for inserting and retracting microfiche cards from said carousel, said card transport device having an extended position in the plane of its movement, a card load-unload chute disposed above said carousel and defining a card-receiving chute in the plane of movement of said card transport device, the card-receiving chute comprising stop means across the chute to prevent a card from inadvertently being moved into the storage and retrieval system, means for retracting said stop means, means adjacent one edge of said chute for limiting the height of the chute to prevent oversized cards from being inserted through the chute into the storage and retrieval system, and means opposite the insert side of said chute for guiding a microfiche card moved by said transport means into said chute.
