摘要： An electrical connector comprises matable housing members and contact-carrying inserts. Matable electrical contact members are secured in passageways in each of the inserts and a coupling member holds the housing members, contact-carrying inserts, and electrical contact members in matable engagement. The housing members and the contact-carrying inserts include projections and flexible latching members to latchably secure the contact-carrying inserts in polarized positions in the housing members for proper matable engagement with each other. According to another aspect of the present invention, the flexible latching members including the polarizing areas of the contact-carrying inserts can be oriented relative to their respective housing members by angular selection to assure mating engagement between only these housing members and inserts so that proper electrical interconnection is made between electrical circuits.

摘要： A T-shaped electrical junction connector having improved feed-through conductors and tap conductors therein is disclosed. The feed-through conductors comprise stamped rectangular plates each of which has three aligned openings extending therethrough. An elongated slot is formed in the feed--through conductors which intersects the openings. The metal of the conductor on each side of the slot is coined outwardly from the plane of the feed-through conductor to form a cylindrical surface which merges with one surface of the conductor. The tap conductors each comprise a cylindrical rod which is dimensioned to be inserted through one of the openings in the feed-through conductor and have an interference fit. The coined portions of the feed-through conductor are stressed in torsion when the tap conductor is inserted through the opening to enhance the contact force at the electrical interface. One or two of the tap conductors have laterally extending intermediate portions so that the free ends of the tap conductors will form a cluster so that the junction connector can be mated to a cylindrical tap connector.

摘要： An electrical connector assembly includes a plug assembly for mating with a header. The plug assembly includes a plug housing and a lever, where the lever includes gear teeth which cooperate with a tooth on the header in a rack and pinion fashion. The lever is locked to the plug housing when the lever is poised for the plug housing to be inserted into the header. A release member on the header releases the lever from the locked position allowing the lever to be rotated to the position where the lever gear teeth mesh with the header tooth, to draw the plug assembly into the header.

The receptacle contact 6 further includes a dielectric insert 11 having center bore 20 and adapted to be received and secured within each of the respective conductive shells 3. Each receptacle contact 6 further includes signal carrying center contact 10 pressed into the bore 20 of the dielectric insert 11. The signal carrying contact 10 comprises a finger-shaped mating section 13 and a compliant clip section 14 with arc shaped solder terminal 17 for interconnection with respective trace on the printed circuit board.

摘要： An integral elastomeric sealing member for an electrical connector assembly mountable to a panel has a transverse gasket section and an axial seal section extending rearwardly from an aperture through the gasket section. The gasket section is compressed between a mounting face of the receptacle and the panel, and the axial seal section extends along the inside of the plug-receiving cavity thereof and has an inner dimension just less than the outer dimension of the plug section of the plug connector which it seals around when the plug is in mating engagement with the receptacle. A tapered portion around the plug section acts as a camming surface to gently deform the axial seal section outwardly against the cavity wall, while the gasket section is held firmly between the panel and the receptacle connector.
