摘要: An open frame structure for attaching to a storage crate in place of an end wall thereof including a base member, two side bars, and a restraining member. The two side bars are attached to opposite ends of the base member and disposed substantially transverse thereto. The first and second side bars of the frame member define a substantially open access port therebetween. The restraining member connects the side bars and includes a central connector to allow separation thereof into two segments. The open frame structure may optionally also include a hinge means. The hinge means includes a plurality of flanges affixed to the base member and extending downwardly therefrom. Each of the flanges has a hole formed therethrough for receiving a hinge pin therethrough. The hinge means may alternatively include a cross plate attached to the storage crate, and a hinge pivotally attached to the cross plate and the base member. Additionally, if a larger size crate is desired, the invention provides a reinforced storage crate assembly formed by connecting end-to-end two or more storage crates including a first storage crate, a second storage crate, a binding means, and at least one stiffening member. The storage crates each have an open end formed by removal of an end wall, and are attached at the open ends by a binding means. Each stiffening member reinforces a corresponding side wall of the storage crate assembly. Each stiffening member and attaching hardware are sufficiently recessed into a corresponding storage crate side wall to allow the storage crate assembly to be collapsibly folded without interference between any of the side walls, stiffening members, or hardware.

摘要: A stackable, nestable, and reusable container for storing, transporting, and dispersing elongated materials, such as wire or cable. The container includes a first substantially cylindrical portion, a second substantially cylindrical portion located concentrically within the first portion, a container bottom interconnecting the lower ends of the substantially cylindrical portions so as to define an annular channel therebetween for storing a coil of elongate material therein; and a mechanism provided with at least one of the first and second substantially cylindrical portions for securely supporting an identical second container thereon when the second container is in a rotatively aligned stacking configuration with the first container, and for compactly receiving the second container in the annular channel when the second container is in a rotatively aligned nesting configuration with the first container. Preferably, the first substantially cylindrical portion has at least one aperture defined in an upper section thereof for dispensing the elongate material therethrough, and the first and second substantially cylindrical portions slopingly diverge with respect to one another, such that a width of said channel slopingly increases, extending upwardly from the container bottom.

摘要: An apparatus for storing, transporting, and dispensing elongate material, such as wire. The elongate dispensing system includes a reusable, stackable, storage container for having a substantially circular inner channel to contain a coil of elongate material and a dispensing guide having a plurality of interior guide mechanisms through which elongate material is dispensed without tangles or over-spooling. The storage container further includes a fastening system through which the dispensing guide removably engages said container during operation, ergonomic handles, and wire containment recesses which contain the ends of elongate material when the apparatus is not in operation.

摘要: An improved method and apparatus for interconnecting a plurality of storage containers of a type having rectangularly shaped recesses formed therein. In one embodiment hereof, the present invention provides a support block which includes four integral side walls which are connected to one another to define a substantially rectangular block shape. The side walls of the block are preferably made to taper, so as to be progressively thinner as they extend further away from a center line which bisects the block. The block also includes a support boss, which is located in between all four side walls and which is connected to at least two side walls. The support boss is connected to the walls of the block by an integral connector, which may take different forms. The support boss has a central bore formed therethrough to receive and support a shaft of a fastener therein. The central bore in the support boss may be also be made to taper, in order to facilitate alignment of the block with a threaded fastener which may be passed therethrough. In a method of interconnecting storage crates according to the present invention, a section of wall is removed from one side of a first crate, and a section of wall is also removed from one side of a second crate. Then, holes are drilled through the first and second crates, at the back of recesses formed at the bottom of the open walls thereof. The first and second crates are then aligned so that the drilled holes line up. Support blocks, in accordance with the present invention, are placed into recesses in between the first and second crates, adjacent the drilled holes thereof. A fastener, such as a bolt or threaded rod, is also placed through the central bore of each support block used, and through the drilled holes of the crates. At least one end of the fastener extends past an inner surface of a crate wall. Then, a corresponding fastener is placed on the end of the rod which extends past the inner crate surface.
