A microwave oven includes a humidity sensor, a main-outlet and a sub-outlet formed at opposite sidewalls of a cooking cavity such that the cooking cavity communicates with the atmosphere through the main-outlet and the sub-outlet. The sub-outlet is installed in a machine room adjacent an air inlet side of a cooling fan. The humidity sensor is installed in the machine room at a position adjacent to the sub-outlet and senses the humidity of air inside the cooking cavity by sensing the humidity of a part of the air discharged from the cooking cavity through the sub-outlet. The surface of the humidity sensor is less likely to be easily contaminated by the air exhausted from the cooking cavity, moisture deposited on the surface of the humidity sensor 60 is quickly evaporated so that the humidity sensor performs its desired operation even when the microwave oven sequentially performs several cooking processes.

A microwave oven, and method of controlling the same, including a magnetron generating high-frequency waves and a sensor detecting the environmental state of air in a cooking cavity. During a first cooking time, outputs of the sensor are sampled at predetermined periods, with the duration of first cooking period being calculated, by a controller, based on the result of the sampling. Thereafter, a second cooking time is calculated, by the controller, based on the first cooking time and the kind of food. A cooking operation is then completed for the second cooking time.
摘要:
A microwave oven performs a cooking operation in one of several cooking modes having a first cooking time period and a second cooking time period. The first cooking time period is determined in accordance with an output value of a sensor which senses a state of air in a cooking cavity of the microwave oven. The second cooking time period is determined in accordance with the first cooking time period such that the first and second cooking time periods are expressed by a functional relation. The cooking modes include a standard mode with a standard second cooking time period, a high mode with a longer cooking time than the standard second cooking time period, and a low mode with a shorter cooking time than the standard second cooking time period. The high mode is preset such that a variation in its second cooking time period is increased in proportion to the first cooking time period, while the low mode is preset such that a variation in its second cooking time period is increased in inverse proportion to the first cooking time period. The microwave oven allows a user to set a cooking time period such that the cooking time period is controllably lengthened or shortened in proportion to the quantity of food contained in the microwave oven.

A method and apparatus for controlling the operation of a microwave oven, including a magnetron generating microwaves and a sensor sensing the state of air in the cooking cavity of the oven. The cooking period is determined by searching one of two data tables in accordance with a determination result after determining whether food to be cooked is included in ascending slope-type foods or descending slope-type foods. The control method and apparatus remarkably reduces a deviation in the cooking periods by distinguishing the ascending slope-type foods from the descending slope-type foods. The control method and apparatus allows the microwave oven to appropriately cook food for a period of time which substantially matches a practically required cooking period, thus providing a good cooking result.

A microwave oven having an improved air outlet and humidity sensor mounting structure includes a body partitioned in its interior into a cooking cavity and a machine room, and a cooling fan installed in the machine room which draws atmospheric air into the cooking cavity while cooling a variety of elements installed in the machine room. In the microwave oven, an air outlet unit discharges air from the cooking cavity, and the humidity sensor senses a cooking atmosphere of the cooking cavity. This microwave oven further comprises a control unit which determines the conditions of food in response to automatically or manually inputted information, and controls the rpm of the cooling fan in response to the determined conditions of the food so as to improve the sensing performance of the humidity sensor.

A semiconductor device includes an isolation region formed in a semiconductor substrate to define an active region. First and second impurity regions spaced apart from each other are formed in the active region. A gate trench region crosses the active region between the first and second impurity regions and extends to the isolation region. A first contact structure having a sidewall in vertical alignment with a sidewall of the gate trench region adjacent to the first impurity region is provided on the first impurity region. A second contact structure having a sidewall in vertical alignment with a sidewall of the gate trench region adjacent to the second impurity region is provided on the second impurity region. A gate electrode is provided in the gate trench region. A gate dielectric layer is interposed between the gate trench region and the gate electrode.

A device of detecting an abnormal state of a microwave oven having relays, a high voltage transformer, and a magnetron, including a voltage sensing part connected between the high voltage transformer and the magnetron to sense a voltage applied to the magnetron's both terminals; and a control part receiving the voltage between the magnetron's terminals from the voltage sensing part to determine an unloaded state where nothing is in a cooking chamber or an overheated state of the magnetron or the cooking chamber, and when determining that the oven is in the abnormal state, turning off the relays to stop the operation of the magnetron; and a method of detecting an abnormal state of a microwave oven including the steps of driving a magnetron to perform a user-selected cooking operation; detecting a voltage between the magnetron's both terminals; computing an average voltage by averaging the voltage between the magnetron's terminals; detecting an abnormal state by comparing the average voltage to a reference voltage; and if determining that the oven is in the abnormal state, stopping the operation of the magnetron.
摘要:
A cooking apparatus having heaters which performs cooking by taking a remaining heat of the heaters in a cooking cavity into consideration if food is cooked using a heating method through the heaters. The cooking apparatus performs cooking based on an accumulative temperature value of the cooking cavity in place of a cooking time, thereby optimally cooking foods even though cooking operations are continuously carried out. The cooking apparatus finishes the cooking if the accumulative temperature value of the cooking cavity reaches a temperature value set to correspond to a cooking level for toast, which is selected by a user.
