    摘要: A liquid crystal display device that can be fabricated more simply as compared with a conventional device and suitably used in a liquid crystal display television satisfying both high pixel transmittance and wide viewing angle display characteristics is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates including at least one transparent substrate, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, and a liquid crystal alignment layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and at least any one of the pair of substrates. On the liquid crystal alignment layer, a plurality of closed regions having a liquid crystal alignment direction different from the surrounding liquid crystal alignment direction are arranged. In the liquid crystal display element, each of the closed regions has such a shape that the head and tail are distinguishable along the surrounding liquid crystal alignment direction.

The liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates including at least one transparent substrate, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, and a liquid crystal alignment layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and at least any one of the pair of substrates. On the liquid crystal alignment layer, a plurality of closed regions having a liquid crystal alignment direction different from the surrounding liquid crystal alignment direction are arranged. In the liquid crystal display element, each of the closed regions has such a shape that the head and tail are distinguishable along the surrounding liquid crystal alignment direction.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device using nematic liquid crystal material with low power consumption and having a memory characteristic which can be easily fabricated with a high yield. The liquid crystal device using nematic liquid crystal material includes: a pair of substrates (1,4) with plate-like electrode layers (2,5) thereon; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates (1,4); and alignment layers (3,6) arranged between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the pair of substrates (1,4). The alignment layers (3,6) include a plurality of different alignment domains having a substantially vertical direction and substantially horizontal direction to the surface of the substrate. Both of two orientation states, i.e. a substantially vertical orientation state and a substantially horizontal orientation state of the liquid crystal, are stable and have a memory characteristic in the absence of an electric field.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device using nematic liquid crystal material with low power consumption and having a memory characteristic which can be easily fabricated with a high yield.     摘要: A liquid crystal display includes first and second substrates with a liquid crystal layer therebetween, and a plurality of pixel regions defined by drain and gate signal lines of the substrate. The pixel region has a common electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer having a plurality of slits, a pixel electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and having plane shape, and a first insulating layer interposed between the common electrode and the pixel electrode. The common electrode is arranged between the pixel electrode and the liquid crystal layer, and the pixel electrode is overlapped with a plurality of slits of the common electrode. A thin film transistor is connected to the drain signal line, and the pixel electrode is connected to a source electrode of the thin film transistor. The common electrode overlaps with a connection portion of the pixel and source electrodes on the first insulating layer.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal disposed between the first substrate having drain lines and gate signal lines defining pixel regions and the second substrate. The pixel regions include a pixel electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and having a plurality of slits, a common electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer, the common electrode being overlapped with the pixel electrode through an insulating layer, and the liquid crystal being driven by an electric field generated by the pixel electrode and the common electrode. A conductor layer is arranged proximate to the drain signal line. The conductor layer is placed at a position where at least a part thereof overlaps the common electrode, and the conductor layer is not connected to the drain signal line and the pixel electrode electrically.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate and a second substrate with a liquid crystal layer therebetween, the first substrate having a plurality of drain signal lines and a plurality of gate signal lines, and a plurality of pixel regions defined by the drain signal lines and the gate signal lines. The pixel regions include a first electrode having a plurality of linear shapes, a second electrode having a planer shape, the second electrode being overlapped with the first electrode through an insulation film, and a thin film transistor having a video signal supplied thereto from the drain signal line. The first electrode is connected with the thin film transistor so that an electric potential of the video signal is supplied thereto, and a standard electric potential is supplied to the second electrode. A third electrode is arranged between the drain signal line and the liquid crystal layer.
