Abstract:
A plasma display panel and method of driving the plasma display panel are described. The plasma display panel includes a scan electrode, a sustain electrode positioned in parallel to the scan electrode, an address electrode overlapping the scan electrode and the sustain electrode, a partition and a scan driver. The partition is configured to divide the address electrode into first and second sub-electrodes that are electrically isolated from one another. The scan driver is configured to apply a first scan signal to the scan electrode during a first subfield. The first subfield includes a reset period, a pre-reset period that immediately precedes the reset period, an address period and a sustain period.
Abstract:
A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including scan and sustain electrodes, a scan driver, and a sustain driver. The scan driver supplies a first reset signal, of which a lowest voltage is a first voltage, to the scan electrode during reset periods of a plurality of subfields and supplies a scan signal, of which a lowest voltage is a third voltage lower than the first voltage, to the scan electrode during address periods. The sustain driver supplies a first sustain bias voltage to the sustain electrode during the reset periods and supplies a second sustain bias voltage higher than the first sustain bias voltage to the sustain electrode during the address periods.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel is provided. The plasma display panel includes a substrate and a phosphor layer. The phosphor layer has a red phosphor layer, a green phosphor layer and a blue phosphor layer. At least one of a start point of the red phosphor layer, a start point of the green phosphor layer and a start point of the blue phosphor layer is different from a start point of the remaining phosphor layer.
Abstract:
A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including scan electrodes and sustain electrodes, and a scan driver that supplies reset signals to the scan electrodes in reset periods of a plurality of subfields so that a period in which a lowest voltage of the reset signal is supplied varies with a reset period of at least one subfield.
Abstract:
A plasma display apparatus and a television set including the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel, a filter and a driver. The filter is positioned in front of the plasma display panel, and includes a mesh type electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding layer. A near infrared ray shielding layer is omitted from the filter. The driver drives the plasma display panel using a control signal having a wavelength of 1 cm to 1 m received from the outside.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel is disclosed. The plasma display panel includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a third electrode, a first barrier rib, and a second barrier rib. The third electrode is formed on a rear substrate to intersect with the first and second electrodes. The first and second barrier ribs which intersect each other form a discharge cell between a front substrate and the rear substrate. The second barrier rib is formed in parallel to the first and second electrodes. One side of each of each of the first electrode and the second electrode is formed to be in alignment with a reference line located at a top portion of the second barrier rib, or is formed to be located at a predetermined distance from the reference line.
Abstract:
A plasma display apparatus is provided. The plasma display apparatus includes a data drive IC for supplying a data signal corresponding to an image signal to the address electrode through an output terminal formed at one side and the other side of the data driver IC, which oppose to each other, during the supply of the scan signal to an electrode of the plasma display panel.
