摘要： A backlight assembly includes a light guide plate guiding light, one or more light sources disposed on a side of the light guide plate and generating and providing the light to the light guide plate, a housing including a bottom portion and sidewall portions which each extend from the bottom portion, and accommodating the light guide plate and the light sources, and a light source cover. The light source cover includes a flat portion which contacts a top surface of the light guide plate, a height-adjusting portion which extends upward or downward from the flat portion to form a stepped shape and has the light sources installed thereunder, and fixing portions which extend from the height-adjusting portion and are fixed to a corresponding one of the sidewall portions. A centerline of the light sources is aligned with a centerline of the light guide plate.

摘要： A backlight assembly includes a light guiding plate and a plurality of first light sources. The light guiding plate includes a light exiting surface through which light can exit, a light guiding surface positioned opposite to the light exiting surface, and a first surface extending between the light guiding surface and the light exiting surface and inclined with respect to the light guiding surface by a first angle. The first angle is an acute angle. The first light sources can generate light, and are disposed under the light guiding plate. These first light sources are disposed adjacent to a first edge connecting the first surface with the light guiding surface.

The receiving container receives the light emitting module, and includes a first frame, a second frame and a heat dissipation channel. The first frame includes a first bottom, and first sidewalls connected to the first bottom. The second frame includes a second bottom which faces the first bottom and is sealed with the first frame. The first and second bottoms are spaced apart from each other and form the heat dissipation channel therebetween.

摘要： A backlight unit which includes a structure in which the sensitivity of a light sensor for detecting color reproducibility of white light is increased, and a liquid crystal display (“LCD”) device having the same. The backlight unit includes a light source which generates light, a light guide plate which guides the light incident from the light source, a light sensor which detects the light emitted from the light guide plate and a mold frame which receives the light source, the light guide plate, and the light sensor. The mold frame includes a receiving recess which receives the light sensor, and a light sensing structure formed on a sidewall thereof being in contact with a side of the light guide plate which reflects the light emitted from the light guide plate and provides the light emitted from the light guide plate to the light sensor.
