摘要: A wet electrophotographic image forming machine that informs a user of a timing for replacing development cartridges. The image forming machine comprises a control section for sensing the condition of the developer stored in one or more developer housings on the basis of a measured electric current flowing between one or more developer feeding members and one or more developer application members via the developer provided therebetween, and a display section for externally displaying the developer condition according to a signal from the control section. The control section evaluates the magnitude of the electric current and provides a signal to the control section for display if there is a developer amount or concentration deficiency.

摘要: A liquid developer imaging system and a method using the system for developing an image, including a cartridge for containing a developing solution; a developing container for receiving the developing solution supplied from the cartridge via a predetermined supply line; a developing roller partly submerged in the developing solution contained in the developing container, installed to be rotated facing a photosensitive object; and a metering blade for scraping off the developing solution coated on the surface of the developing roller to a predetermined thickness, is provided. According to the system, a developing supply structure can be considerably simplified because a high-density developing solution is directly used in developing an image without a process of diluting the solution, and an image can be developed to have high definition because the concentration of the developing solution coated on the developing roller is regularly controlled by a metering blade.

摘要: A developing solution feeder of a wet type electrophotographic color printer includes a plurality of circulation tanks for storing the developing solution to be fed to a developing unit; a plurality of injection nozzles for jetting the developing solution stored in the circulation tanks to a developing gap of the developing unit; a plurality of ink storage tanks and a carrier storage tank for respectively storing the condensed ink of a certain color and a carrier to be fed to the circulation tanks, respectively; a waste tank for collecting the waste developing solution produced from the circulation tanks; a refill cartridge for the supplementation of the condensed ink or the carrier; developing solution refilling/waste developing solution collecting means for refilling the ink storage tanks or the carrier storage tank with the condensed ink or the carrier, respectively, and for evacuating the waste developing solution collected in the waste tank to the empty refill cartridge; and ink injecting/constant feeding means having a gear pump for jetting the condensed ink or the refill cartridge to the ink storage tanks during the condensed ink refilling process by the pumping action while being driven in a certain direction, and for feeding the appropriate amount of the condensed ink stored in the ink storage tanks to the circulation tanks while being driven in a reverse direction. Accordingly, since the condensed ink within the refill cartridge is jetted to the ink storage tanks by the gear pump, the condensed ink is stored in the refill cartridge, purely. As a result, the property change of the condensed ink, which is caused due to the presence of compressed air, is prevented. Further, since the gear pump functions to feed the condensed ink of the ink storage tanks to the circulation tanks, the condensed ink is fed to the circulation tanks in more appropriate amounts.

摘要: A method of controlling an ink agitator of a wet-type electrophotography printer. The method includes the steps of checking and determining the extent of the printer non-usage time during the printer initialization operation, selecting the driving time of the ink agitator according to the extent of the non-usage time from the first step, and driving the ink agitator according to the ink agitator driving time selected at the second step. Here, the printer non-usage time determining step determines whether the non-usage time is a first selection time, a second selection time, or a third selection time and sets a first, second and third ink agitator driving time according to the length of the non-usage time. Accordingly, because the ink agitator is driven according to the non-usage time of the printer, it is able to completely dissolve deposition and lumps of ink even when the non-usage time is substantially long. Also, in cases where the ink agitator driving time is longer than the time taken to completely disperse the developer within the circulation tanks, when dispersion of the developer within the circulation tanks is completed, the printer is able to perform printing operations and the ink agitator is continually driven throughout the set time. Therefore, uniform initialization operation time can be maintained regardless of the non-usage time of the printer.

摘要: An ink delivery system of a liquid electrophotographic color printer which supplies liquid developers of predetermined concentration, each of which is a mixture of a toner and a liquid carrier, to a plurality of respective developing units, and which recovers the carrier using a drying/condensing unit which absorbs and evaporates the carrier remaining on the photosensitive medium after development. A plurality of circulation tanks store respective developers to be supplied to a corresponding developing unit. Respective concentration measuring devices measure the concentration of the developers. A waste tank receives waste developer produced in the plurality of circulation tanks, and includes a waste developer agitating device for agitating the waste developer. A plurality of ink storage tanks store concentrated inks of predetermined colors to be supplied to the respective circulation tanks, and include respective ink agitators driven by a single driving source. A carrier storage tank stores a carrier to be supplied to the circulation tanks, and having an inclined surface at the bottom so that water and a liquid carrier condensed by the drying/condensing unit can be stored in a stratified state. A refill cartridge stores a concentrated ink or carrier with compressed air and is removably installed at a common installation portion provided at the main body of the printer. A developer refilling/waste recovering mechanism refills a concentrated ink or carrier of the refill cartridge into a corresponding ink storage tank or carrier storage tank and recovers the waste developer stored in the waste tank to an empty refill cartridge.
