In the wireless communication system 1 according to the present invention, an area information acquisition portion 2 acquires information on an area in which the wireless communication system presently exists. Based on communication setting information in the wireless communication system corresponding to area information stored in an information memory portion 4, an area information judgment portion 3 judges communication setting information capable of being set in the wireless communication system in accordance with the area information acquired from the area information acquisition portion 2. Based on the communication setting information judged by the area information judgment portion 3, communication parameter control setting portion 5 controls communication settings of the wireless communication system.

    摘要: A collision of data transmitted in an ad hoc network in which a communication system such as a wireless LAN system is managed without a master control station is minimized. A communication station in the network estimates a time at which a neighboring station will transmit a signal and, when a communication start request is received from some other communication station, adds time information, generated based on the length of time to the estimated time, to a response to the communication start request. This allows the reception side communication station, which knows in advance that the transmission will be occupied by a transmission from other communication stations, to cause the transmission side communication station to transmit data at a time other than that occupation time.

A wireless transmission unit includes an interface, a buffer, a spreading processor, a UWB wireless transmitter, a controller, a data memory, and an antenna. The controller detects the entry of information signal into the buffer, and then determines the transmission rate depending on the state of wireless linkage and indicates the determined transmission rate to the spreading processor.

This novel constitution allows to configure two or more networks guaranteed not to interfere each other, thereby allowing the coexistence of a plurality of personal area networks on a same frequency channel.
