The lever switch device includes a rotatable operating lever, a switch structure including setting positions and allowing wiper operation setting to be made by rotation of the operating lever, and a structure of a detent mechanism to cause the operating lever to stay in a predetermined position. The setting positions include a home position, a position for wiper operation up adjustment and a position for wiper operation down adjustment. The detent mechanism includes a mechanism to return the operating lever to the home position from the position for wiper operation up adjustment or the position for wiper operation down adjustment.
