Abstract: Embodiments of golf club heads with components composed of a metal-composite-metal construction are described herein. The metal-composite-metal construction makes up a portion of the golf club head. The metal-composite-metal construction can make up any one or combination of the following structures: faceplate, face insert, internal ribs, turbulators, crown insert, or weight channel. The composite layer of the metal-composite-metal construction is composed of reinforced fibers. The metal-composite-metal construction allows for weight savings in the golf club head while maintaining durability, strength, rigidity, and performance.

Abstract: A golf club head with a lightweight shaft-receiving structure is described herein. The lightweight shaft-receiving structure comprises one or more lightweight components provided in low-stress areas of the club head, wherein the lightweight components form portions of the shaft-receiving structure that would otherwise be formed by higher-density body material. The lightweight shaft-receiving structure creates discretionary mass that can be redistributed to improve the club head mass properties.

Abstract: A wood-type golf club head includes an angled weight assembly with an adjustable weight disposed within a weight channel. The adjustable weight assembly is positioned at an angle relative to a ground plane to reduce and redirect bending of the golf club head at impact. The reduction and redirection of bending decreases and redirects stress applied to the weight channel at impact to reduce resultant oscillations of the weight channel, which in turn reduces support material for the weight assembly and increases discretionary mass.

Abstract: Some embodiments include hollow body club heads having reinforced club head faces. In one example, the club face comprises a reinforcement element such as a looped rib positioned on a rear surface of the club face to provide reinforcement. The club head defines a closed interior cavity, where the reinforcement is located within the closed interior cavity. The hollow body club head further comprises a rear including a plurality of walls to allow the club head to easily bend during a golf ball impact. The combination of the hollow body design and the reinforcement element reinforces the club head while permitting the club face to bend. Other embodiments of related club heads and methods are also disclosed.
