Abstract: A method for determining a degraded guide rail condition in an elevator system, a computer program product, and an elevator system are disclosed. The method includes obtaining first data including information about movement of an elevator component relative to a guide rail, and obtaining second data including information about movement of an elevator component. The method further includes comparing the first data and the second data to each other, and detecting, based on the comparison, a deviation fulfilling a deviation criterion. Still further, the method includes creating a signal indicating the degraded, such as misaligned, guide rail condition, such as of the first or the second guide rail.

Abstract: The invention relates to an elevator system comprising at least two elevator cars adapted to travel in respective separate hoistways of the same building. The at least two elevator cars have at least two different rated speeds comprising lowest rated speed and a rated speed higher than the lowest rated speed. At least each said elevator car with the rated speed higher than the lowest rated speed is provided with an electronic overspeed monitoring equipment configured to stop the movement of the elevator car, if the speed of the elevator car meets an overspeed threshold. The overspeed threshold is decreasing towards at least one end terminal of the hoistway. Each of said separate hoistway of the building has a bottom end terminal space with a substantially equal height and/or a top end terminal space with a substantially equal height. The invention relates also to a process for providing an elevator hoistway arrangement comprising at least two separate elevator hoistways and to an elevator hoistway arrangement obtainable with the process.

Abstract: A ladder support bracket has a support shoulder for creating a support contact with a complementary backup. The bracket includes at least one jaw for joining the bracket to an upstanding rail of a ladder, the jaw having also a retainer mechanism by means of which the bracket—when being attached to a rail of a ladder—can be brought into a clamping position attaching the bracket unmovably to the rail and a release position holding the bracket in a swivel connection relative to the rail and/or movably along at least a section of such rail.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method, system and computer program for monitoring the run of a roping interconnecting a car and a counterweight of an elevator and for detecting an abnormal operation condition during the drive of a traction sheave intending therewith the car and the counterweight to be moved via said roping. Said roping is running on its way from the car to the traction sheave via at least one pulley and on its way from the counterweight to the traction sheave via at least one pulley, wherein the rotation of said at least two pulleys is monitored by sensing their rotation. These rotation data are then analysed in view of a mutual correlation indicating therewith a synchronized run of the roping on either side of the traction sheave, and detecting therewith an abnormal situation when detecting an absence of such correlation.

Abstract: An elevator safety monitoring system, an elevator system, an elevator drive unit, and a method for operating an elevator are presented. The elevator safety monitoring system includes an elevator car absolute position and speed feedback device, a safety monitor connected to the absolute position and speed feedback device, and a safety zone extending inside an elevator shaft. The safety zone is associated with an allowable maximum speed of an elevator car, wherein the allowable maximum speed is lower than a rated speed of an elevator car outside the safety zone, wherein the safety monitor is configured to determine a slowdown failure of the elevator car approaching the safety zone, and, upon the determination of the slowdown failure, command an actuator to decelerate the elevator car to the allowable maximum speed.

Abstract: An elevator includes an elevator shaft defined by surrounding walls and top and bottom end terminals; an elevator car vertically movable in the elevator shaft; elevator hoisting ropes coupled to the elevator car; an elevator hoisting machine including a traction sheave engaged with the elevator hoisting ropes; a traction monitor configured to determine traction of the hoisting machine; an electromechanical brake; a measuring apparatus adapted to provide speed data and position data of the elevator car; and a safety processor associated with the traction monitor and the measuring apparatus. The safety processor includes an ETLS threshold configured to decrease towards the top and/or bottom end terminal in accordance with the position of the elevator car. The ETSL threshold is adjusted on the basis of the traction of the hoisting machine. The safety processor is configured to determine an elevator car slowdown failure if the speed data meets or exceeds the ETSL threshold.
