    Abstract: An electronic document generation apparatus includes a processing execution unit that executes first processing for generating an electronic document on the basis of a scanned image of an original document. When data to be used in second processing executed by a cooperative apparatus of the electronic document generation apparatus is generated by one of a plurality of sub-processes of the first processing, the processing execution unit transmits the data to the cooperative apparatus at a stage where there is a remaining unexecuted process among the sub-processes, and continues with execution of the remaining unexecuted process among the sub-processes. The electronic document generation apparatus receives a result of the second processing executed on the data by the cooperative apparatus from the cooperative apparatus, and generates the electronic document on the basis of the result of the second processing and the result of the first processing executed by the processing execution unit.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a first user interface operating on a first platform and a second user interface operating on a second platform and capable of being customized by a user.     Abstract: An image forming system includes multiple image forming apparatuses and a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal establishes communication connection in a remote operation mode with a parent apparatus (one of the image forming apparatuses), the remote operation mode being a mode in which the mobile terminal operates as a remote operation apparatus of the parent apparatus. The mobile terminal displays an operation screen received from the parent apparatus, accepts a user operation provided through the operation screen, and transmits first setting information based on the user operation to the parent apparatus.     Abstract: An electronic document generation apparatus extracts a processing target area including a row area from a scanned image of an original document and detects the dimensions of the row area, the row area being an area of either a whole or partial range of a row of character string arranged in one direction in the scanned image. The apparatus determines an arrangement-direction character size on the basis of the dimensions of the row area, and sends out image data of the processing target area and an instruction to perform OCR processing on the processing target area to an external apparatus. The apparatus then receives a processing result of the OCR processing from the external apparatus, and arranges a character string of the processing result in the electronic document on the basis of the arrangement-direction character size to generate an electronic document.
