Abstract: An apparatus for use with a medical imaging device (2) operative in conjunction with a contrast injector (11) to perform a contrast enhanced medical imaging procedure. The apparatus includes: an alert output device (32), and at least one electronic processor (10, 20) operatively connected with the alert output device and programmed to: extract image frames from video or screen sharing (17) of a display (13, 24′); screen-scrape injector settings of the contrast injector from the image frames; and output an alert (30) via the alert output device if the screen-scraped injector settings satisfy an alert criterion.

The method includes acquiring a video (17) of the medical imaging device, the acquired video including at least one of video acquired by a camera (16) arranged to image the medical imaging device and/or video comprising screen-scraped image frames of an imaging device controller (10) of the medical imaging device: determining a review time for the medical imaging procedure based on the video: providing a notification to a remote electronic processing device (12) operable by a radiologist of the determined review time; and at the review time, extracting at least one review image (38) from the video and making the at least one review image available at the remote electronic processing device.

The method includes acquiring a video (17) of at least one component of the medical device, wherein the video comprises a time sequence of image frames; as the video is acquired, transmitting the acquired video to a remote electronic processing device (12) operable by a remote expert (RE); as the video is acquired, determining a state of the medical procedure as a function of time from the acquired video; and as the video is acquired, adjusting a data stream transmission setting of the transmitting as a function of time based on the determined state of the medical procedure as a function of time.

Abstract: An apparatus (10) provides remote assistance to a local operator of a medical imaging device (2) disposed in a medical imaging device bay (3) via a communication link (14) from a remote location (4) that is remote from the medical imaging device bay to the medical imaging device bay. The apparatus includes a workstation (12) disposed at the remote location including at least one workstation display (24). At least one electronic processor (20) is programmed to, over the course of a medical imaging examination performed using the medical imaging device: extract successive image frames from video (17) or screen sharing (18) of a controller display (24′) of the medical imaging device; screen-scrape information related to the medical imaging examination from the successive image frames over the course of the medical imaging examination; maintain status information on the medical imaging examination at least in part using the screen-scraped information; and output an alert (30) perceptible at the remote location when the status information on the medical imaging examination satisfies an alert criterion.
