The laser source is configured for emitting a horizontal laser line onto the patient, the detector is configured for detecting a course of the laser line emitted onto the patient. An analysing unit configured for determining the patient position and/or the patient rotation of the patient, based on an analysis of the detected course of the laser line. The analysing unit is configured for validating whether the determined patient position and/or patient rotation of the patient corresponds to a predetermined reference parameter, and wherein the analysing unit is configured for generating a feedback signal based on a result of the validation.

Abstract: A system (100) for classifying lesions comprising an image providing unit (101) for providing a dual-modal image of an imaging region is provided, the dual-modal image comprising a CT image (10, 10′) and a registered PET image (20′), the imaging region including a tissue region of interest comprising a lesion and a reference tissue region. The system further comprises an identifying unit (102) for identifying, in the CT and the PET image, a respective lesion image segment and, in the PET image, a reference image segment. Moreover, the system comprises a normalizing unit (103) for normalizing the lesion image segment in the PET image with respect to the reference image segment, an image feature extracting unit (104) for extracting image feature values from both lesion image segments, and a classifying unit (105) for classifying the lesion based on the extracted values.

Abstract: The invention discloses an apparatus for stroke characterization. The apparatus comprises a processor. The processor is configured to receive image data representing a three-dimensional image of a head of a subject; identify a region within the image data corresponding to bone in the head of the subject; apply an adjustment to the image data to compensate for effects resulting from radiation scattered from the bone during acquisition of the image data; generate a two-dimensional image based on the adjusted image data; and provide the generated two-dimensional image as an input to a predictive model to identify a region of interest for stroke characterization in the two-dimensional image.

Abstract: The invention relates to an X-ray image analysis system (4) comprising an X-ray image input interface (8) and a computing unit (9). The X-ray image input interface (8) is configured to receive X-ray images (14) taken by an X-ray imaging system (1) comprising an X-ray source (2) and an X-ray detector (3). The computing unit (9) is connected to the X-ray image input interface (8) and configured to obtain at least one X-ray image (14) from the X-ray image input interface (8) and perform a scapula position detection, including inputting the X-ray image (14) into a trained machine-learning system, running the trained machine-learning system, and obtaining a scapula position. The computing unit (9) is further configured to transmit scapula position information from a scapula position information output interface (10) to a display (5). The invention further relates to an X-ray imaging system (1) comprising an X-ray source (2), an X-ray detector (3), an X-ray image analysis system (4) according to the above description, and the display (5) configured to receive and display the scapula position information as well as to a method for analyzing an X-ray image.

Abstract: An improved X-ray imaging system. The system comprises an X-Ray radiation source configured to emit an X-ray beam towards an object to be imaged and an X- ray detector configured to detect X-rays which have passed through the object. It further comprises a reconstruction processing means configured to reconstruct an image of the object based on the detected X-rays, wherein the reconstruction processing means is further configured to determining presence of at least one foreign object located in the object or located between a surface of the object and the X-Ray radiation source and/or the X-ray detector, obtaining a three-dimensional profile of the determined foreign object from a server-based foreign object database, and reconstructing an image of the object by acquiring a plurality of projection images of the object from the X-ray detector and reducing impact on image quality of an artefact that can be caused by the foreign object in the image of the object based on at least the obtained three-dimensional profile of the foreign object.
